There was plenty of expert rejoicing in August as we welcomed Zeiss, Kolpin and Nutro back to ExpertVoice along with 10 new brands who recognize the most effective way to increase full-price consumer sales is by connecting with the people consumers trust for advice about what to buy.

In other news, beta testing continues for brands curious about the impact of surfacing expert generated digital recommendations at the point of purchase. Brands taking part in the beta program are curating the expert recommendations they’d like to feature on their product display pages. The product allows them to prioritize the order, rotate recommendations as often as they wish as well to only showcase recommendations from experts who are brand certified and verified product owners. Consumers benefit by viewing who the expert is that provided the recommendation, for example that the expert recommending a certain Klymit camping pad has has worked at REI for two years.

Brands have also been busy engaging with the Advocacy Platform, their one-stop place to manage their ExpertVoice program. Since its launch in early 2019, more than 300 brands have logged in to create customized reports, engage with experts and download expert generated content. Over the last quarter several updates have been released enhance the Advocacy Platform experience. A full summary is available here.

  • Experts took 819,734 EduGames last month
  • 26,396 new experts joined ExpertVoice in August
  • Experts made 52,440 orders, purchasing 84,880 products last month on ExpertVoice hosted stores
  • Experts purchased $6,152,326 worth of products last month via ExpertVoice hosted stores
  • Experts made 5,620 digital recommendations* on ExpertVoice in August
  • Experts uploaded 3,136 pieces of EGC** last month to ExpertVoice

 

*What’s a recommendation? Check out any hosted store on the platform, experts can write a recommendation about the gear they own as well as leave a likelihood to recommend score.

**What’s EGC? This is Expert Generated Content – pictures experts have uploaded to the ExpertVoice platform, often tagging brands that they are using in the photo.
