For Skullcandy, like many other consumer electronics companies, trusted product reviews are key in aiding the consumer with their purchasing decision, as reviews instill a sense of confidence that can influence shoppers to cross over the threshold into a conversion. We identified the need for an accelerated velocity of brand consistency, and trusted product reviews that achieved an organic ambassador approach that could naturally support the brand positioning of our products that we desired reviews for.
The team at Experticity delivered a solution where expert gear testers within the vast influencer network were recruited to provide product reviews on Skullcandy.com for our rugged and refined Bluetooth Speaker line. The reviews that poured in were incredible, and truly reinforced the positioning of this product line, as the testers were encouraged to put our products through their paces, just like they are advertised to handle.
The gear tester program is an exciting tool for us, and has been a beneficial experience that we look forward to using again. As a marketer, I personally place a high value on the ability to offer our consumers useful information on the benefits of our products from a trusted source, so they are able to easily identify which products are right for them based on user-generated feedback.
