December platform update

ExpertVoice News

Dec.19.18

Due to the high volume of traffic we experience during the holiday season, ExpertVoice implements freeze on edits to coding of our site for the last two months of the year. This ensures there are no unintended consequences for any major updates or releases that would disrupt the expert experience and your impact holiday sales.

However, that doesn’t mean the team has been a sitting idle, they still squeaked out a few updates AND they have some really exciting things to release in 2019!

The e-commerce experience had two major upgrades:

Content can now be deployed on the product display pages. This initial release allows brands with templated videos to display their videos on these pages, but this feature will lead to opportunities in the near future to build content specifically designed to drive sales.

The “Order History” tab also gained a new feature. Experts can now leave a recommendation for any product they purchased directly from their order history (previously experts had to navigate to the specific product page).  This feature is available even if the product is no longer available on ExpertVoice.

We have also been busy beta testing a new version of the ExpertVoice app, which will include an “Expert Feed.” Think Instagram for experts – a scrolling feed of recently posted UGC and recommendations. Stay tuned for a release date, but in the meantime here’s a sneak peek:

The new year will not only bring enhancements to the app, but also to your experience as brand. If you’ve built content with ExpertVoice, you will recall that during the WIP phase of the build, you have to proof your brand page via a screenshot and review your modules via multiple links…. Well that’s about to change! The team has built a new test environment that will provide a campaign link that will allow you to test the experience start to finish. Hooray for simplicity!

Additionally, we know many of you have experienced frustration over the inability to determine what products to feature on your campaign pages and within your store – well that feature is coming too, check in with your CS or AE after the first of the year.

Lastly, hopefully you all read the great post last month from Greg Cox about the Marketer Platform. As we approach general availability in mid Q1, the team is laser focused on ensuring the platform is running smoothly and addressing the needs of you, the end user. If any of you will be at OR, we’ll be hosting a launch party on January 31, at Williams & Graham (ranked as one of the best 50 bars in the world by Drinks International), reach out to your AE to secure an invite.

Happy holidays to you all!
