Each month we highlight one of the hardworking people who make up the ExpertVoice team. This month meet Brandon Draper, Senior Account Director.

ExpertVoice: Brandon, tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from, what do you like to do?

Brandon: I consider myself to be a Utah native. My father was in the Air Force so I’ve been around the world, but we set up camp in Utah in 1991. And aside from 2.5 year stop in Dallas shortly after getting married, Utah has been home ever since. I studied tech sales at Weber State and marketing at Park University. I then worked for Logitech and Hewlett Packard prior to joining ExpertVoice in 2013.

I’m an avid golfer, BBQ’er and grass enthusiast who enjoys spending time with my wife of 15 years and 2 kids — Lily is 12 and Beckham is 9. The travel bug bit me early in life and I’m doing my best to share that with my family.

ExpertVoice: What’s your title at ExpertVoice and what’re you charged with doing?

Brandon: I am a Senior Account Director charged with advising our brand clients on the best ways to build, manage and optimize their advocacy efforts. I also work closely with a few Account Executives to coach and support them with their accounts.

ExpertVoice: What do you like most about your job?

Brandon: There are few opportunities out there where in a single day you get to speak with leaders of some of the most recognized brands in the world, it’s energizing. Learning from these brands and sharing expertise with them makes it easy to come to work every day.

ExpertVoice: What’s the biggest challenge for your role?

Brandon: Controlling enthusiasm — there’s SO much incredible product innovation coming from ExpertVoice that it’s tough to stay in the moment and not think too far ahead in conversations.

ExpertVoice: What’s the one big goal – both professional and personal – that you’re going to crush this year?

Brandon: Personally, it’s spending more time with my kids teaching them something new, whether in sports, life or other areas. Professionally, it’s always about ensuring satisfaction, building relationships of trust and creating value.

ExpertVoice: Alright, now let’s get to the fun questions. If you had to eat one type of food for the rest of your life what would it be?

Brandon: BBQ. Anything that’s been slow smoked is just fine with me. There are times where I feel like a caveman.

ExpertVoice: What’s one product you couldn’t live without and why?

Brandon: My Bushnell Pro X2 Rangefinder. I do my best to play a fair amount of golf each season and try to compete in some local amateur events. So, confidence for target distance is a must. Having line-of-sight distance eliminates the need to second guess yourself before making a swing. In golf, confidence and commitment are everything and this product is an essential piece of equipment for me.

ExpertVoice: What’s the last thing you bought on ExpertVoice and how do you plan on using it?

Brandon: Brooks Levitate 2 running shoes. It seems as though there’s a new fad called jogging, I’m going to give it a try — and my answer around favorite food might be a strong contributor to this decision.

ExpertVoice: Who’s the one person you trust most for advice on what to buy?

Brandon: My local golf pro and his staff. We have a close relationship and they never give me the “paid” recommendation — they know my game, my swing and if they find something they feel could improve my score, they tell me.

ExpertVoice: What’s one category you see yourself as an expert in and why?

Brandon: Grass. Keeping a lawn green in this high-desert climate has become a bit of an obsession with me. Come talk to me about your watering schedule and mow patterns any day.

ExpertVoice: What’s a piece of advice you would give to 15-year-old you?

Brandon: Listen to your parents – they know a thing or two.
