ExpertVoice Employee Spotlight: Lindsay Simpson

Each month we try to highlight one of the hardworking people who make up the ExpertVoice team. This month meet Lindsay Simpson, Head of Marketing, Expert Acquisition and Engagement.

ExpertVoice: Lindsay, tell us a little about yourself, where are you from, what do you like to do?

LindsayI am a Southern California native who moved to Utah in 2011 to join the outdoor industry. I received my degree from the University of California, San Diego. Prior to ExpertVoice, I spent over a decade helping to build world-class marketing organizations for brands like Active Network (, and Axis41/Merkle and Adobe.

I have a passion for the outdoor industry and, in my free time, I love to explore the mountains, hike, bike and snowboard. I especially love skiing with my husband and two kiddos who are 3- and 6-years-old. I could not be more ecstatic to join ExpertVoice and thrilled to be part of such a passionate and dynamic team. Look out 2019!

ExpertVoiceWhat’s your title at ExpertVoice and what’re you charged with doing?

Lindsay: As VP of marketing for all things experts, I focus on driving the growth of the expert community and helping the experts come back to ExpertVoice more often to experience all the great things our brands are offering them. Since my earliest days at more than a decade ago, I’ve understood that the people we call experts are the most powerful, authentic source of recommendations. As we head into 2019, I’m excited to focus on growing expert engagement.

ExpertVoiceWhat do you like most about your job?

Lindsay: The people and staff of ExpertVoice are like nothing I’ve ever experienced. They are the coolest, most down-to-earth, ridiculously smart and hardworking colleagues I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. There is magic inside these walls of ExpertVoice, the culture is palpable and everyone here lives and breathes the same mission statement we instill with our experts and brands: we live to connect experts with brands to create quality recommendations that matter.

ExpertVoice: What’s the biggest challenge for your role?

Lindsay: There are so many countless opportunities for growth at ExpertVoice; every company’s dream. My team’s biggest challenge is to prioritize and attack the largest opportunities with clarity and focus.

ExpertVoice: What’s the one big goal – both professional and personal – that you’re going to crush this year?

Lindsay: I strive to be a mentor for fellow female leaders and our next generation of girls. My goal is to find ways to serve our community and my company by continuing to strengthen our rising leaders, provide support and learning opportunities for colleagues and lead by example. On a personal note, everyday I hope to inspire my daughter with work ethic, passion and drive.

ExpertVoice: Alright, now let’s get to the fun questions. What’s one product you couldn’t live without and why?

LindsayANYTHING Hydro Flask!!! I probably own every single one of their products. My go-to water bottle at the office and during my workouts is the 32 Oz. Wide Mouth W/straw Lid, it keeps things cool for hours. Our entire camping kitchen is equipped with coffee mugs and rocks and wine tumblers. My kids absolutely love the products as well and we never leave the house without our Food Flask and kids bottles.

ExpertVoice: What’s the last thing you bought on ExpertVoice and how do you plan on using it?

Lindsay: The North Face Garner Triclimate Jacket and Black Diamond Traverse Pro poles – I was getting outfitted for a HeliSkiing trip with my husband in Revelstoke BC, Canada in February (w/ Selkirk Tangiers).

ExpertVoice: Who’s the one person you trust most for advice on what to buy?

Lindsay: My brother Colin works in the outdoor industry and lives near Glacier National Park. He and my sister-in-law are some of the most dedicated and passionate outdoor enthusiasts I know. Anything they recommend I buy; I know that it’s tried and tested, he will personally vouch for it and if I don’t like it I can just blame him.

ExpertVoice: What’s one category you see yourself as an expert in and why?

Lindsay: Snowboarding – I’ve been boarding since I was very young on all mountain and snow types. I’ve tested out more gear than I can keep track of. I know what performs great, what’s comfortable and what stands the test of time.

ExpertVoice: Favorite national park and national park you’d like to visit next?

Lindsay: Zion National Park in Utah is my favorite. Last summer I had the opportunity to hike The Narrows top to bottom, it was an unbelievable experience! The next national park I’d love to visit is Denali.
