Great for First Responders

I currently work as a first responder, and I decided to buy this after reading that its wide, non-slip base was designed to combat tipping over when on the dash of a boat. I have not used it on a boat, but since there are limited cup holder access in my shift vehicle, this mug has handled going "red" (lights and sirens) and having to zip around corners, brake suddenly when needed, and swerve around cars while just being on the dash of the vehicle. I will say that it does not keep my coffee hot as long as some of my other Stanley cups, but this is not a camping mug--this is a working mug (although I have certainly buckled it into a backpack strap for hands free hiking before). Refills are a must on shift, and I usually finish a mug (it only holds 20oz, which is perfect for holding a standard cup of coffee plus a little more), before it gets cold anyway. As a bonus, since it is squattier in stature than other 20oz mugs, it fits directly the coffee machines at the ER, so I can grab a quick cappuccino and go, and not have to deal with wasting a disposable cup, or holding a larger mug underneath at an angle while it fills (since they are too tall to rest underneath). I also love that this mug definitely has a very masculine vibe to it, and comes in any color you want so long as its black. I would definitely be interested in purchasing a newer version of this, should this one ever wear out, but with the way its built, I probably won't need a new one for a few years at least, so its probably more accurate to say that I would be more interested in just buying a new lid for this one eventually. Thanks, Stanley!

Excellent mug. I can't say enough good things about this. The lid is made of thick, durable plastics that are easy to wash. The O-ring that seals it is nice, but does wear out after a while. Mine did after about 6 months. Not a huge deal as it still seals, but a little bit of a pain because it will slip off. I can leave this cup sitting on the dash of my truck and have zero worry about it tipping over, even when driving in the city. I have had it tip over, when the lid is shut, it's sealed... Keeps the hot things hot for about 2 hours, cold things cold for about 4 hours. I would definitely recommend.

Great truck mug

Expert Recommendation Content I get a lot of comments on this mug! Yeah it doesn’t fit in the cup holder but it takes a serious turn in the truck to get it to flip. Clip the top shut and nothing is getting out. Mine has been all over the country with me. Riding in a wildland fire engine is brutal on this mug but it holds up and hangs in there. Just fill, drink, rinse, and repeat. It is something I’ve been searching for, for a while. Found mine two years ago and have not regretted it.

Exactly what you expect.

Great mug! I use it along with the Stanley Adventure French Press every morning (makes 32oz). Giving me 12oz before I leave (early) for work, and 20oz for the rest of the morning. Keeps coffee hot for hours! I've dropped it and knocked it a few times, it's fallen upsidedown in the dirt (lid closed), left on the back of a truck and drove off once. No cares in the world, merely scratched a little paint. It takes stickers well! Something nostalgic about these old mugs.. You know you want one.

Love having 20oz of room

With a busy family, tiny cramped living quarters, and a dog running around, I appreciate a cup that won't tip over. Wish the lid was easier to actuate (I have to get in there and pry it open) and it's pretty heavy so I get a bonus arm workout. Overall, it's my go to coffee mug right now to fit 20oz. My family calls it my "tea bucket"

I love this mug. Works perfect in my CJ5 by not spilling while wheeling. Only draw back is I just might keep my coffee to hot lol. I have filled the mug at 9pm for work and it is still hot at 4am!!!

Stays hot all shift

Happy to have hot coffee when a coffee pot or maker is not available in various locations, additionally its wonderful in the garage to keep debris out when you're making a mess in the area or cleaning with the air compressor

North Pacific Approved

I work on an Alaskan/Arctic research vessel that tends to roll quite a bit. Not having to worry about where I left my coffee cup in heavy weather has been great. It has accrued over 100 days at sea and not one spill. Id recommend it to anyone

Mariner’s mug

In the maritime industry the ship is always moving. This Stanley mug is amazing. I have been in some very rough seas. The wide base with rubber ensures my mug never spills!
