Great for First Responders
I currently work as a first responder, and I decided to buy this after reading that its wide, non-slip base was designed to combat tipping over when on the dash of a boat. I have not used it on a boat, but since there are limited cup holder access in my shift vehicle, this mug has handled going "red" (lights and sirens) and having to zip around corners, brake suddenly when needed, and swerve around cars while just being on the dash of the vehicle. I will say that it does not keep my coffee hot as long as some of my other Stanley cups, but this is not a camping mug--this is a working mug (although I have certainly buckled it into a backpack strap for hands free hiking before). Refills are a must on shift, and I usually finish a mug (it only holds 20oz, which is perfect for holding a standard cup of coffee plus a little more), before it gets cold anyway. As a bonus, since it is squattier in stature than other 20oz mugs, it fits directly the coffee machines at the ER, so I can grab a quick cappuccino and go, and not have to deal with wasting a disposable cup, or holding a larger mug underneath at an angle while it fills (since they are too tall to rest underneath). I also love that this mug definitely has a very masculine vibe to it, and comes in any color you want so long as its black. I would definitely be interested in purchasing a newer version of this, should this one ever wear out, but with the way its built, I probably won't need a new one for a few years at least, so its probably more accurate to say that I would be more interested in just buying a new lid for this one eventually. Thanks, Stanley!
