Great for camping

This pour over is great for camping and other activities where less stuff is important. No paper filter required due to the built in metal mesh which works fairly well at straining the coffee grounds. 4 stars for this reason: there will be a few grounds in the bottom of the cup. I don't mind because you can easily pour out the last little bit of coffee to avoid the small amount of grit. In my limited experience with metal coffee filters, this one is the best by a significant amount. The item is super easy to clean, the middle metal filter insert unscrews and can be rinsed easily. Both parts are dishwasher safe so cleaning when you arrive back home is a breeze. The metal construction, like other Stanley items, seems very durable. I am a fan of the coating because it cleans well, looks nice, and protects the item. The item does take up space, it is wider than a normal mug size (excluding mug handle) so if that is a concern, keep that in mind. The weight of the item is also significant due to the heavy duty construction so I wouldn't recommend for backpacking. Only 4 things required for a great cup of coffee: this pour over, coffee grounds, boiling water, and a mug (Stanley mug works excellent)!

Coffee Lovers, This Is For You!

I purchased this without the cup, and am happy to report it does indeed work with other cups :) this attachment was my intro to pour over coffee, and I'm so glad as it's one of my favorite ways to prepare my coffee. It's clean, fresh, and so easy to clean! I use this piece almost daily and I love it so dearly. It will come on its first camping trip in a couple of weeks!

Fresh ground Backcountry Camp Coffee

This awesome product allowed the conservation team I was with to brew freshly ground coffee in out more shall we say, "middle of absolutely no-where" conservation efforts. It withstood a beating for 6 months & came out on top, allowed us to make large amounts of coffee or just a cup of two. I do recommend not using fine ground coffee or else you'll be drinking muddy water, instead use a medium to course grind.

Easy Cleaning!

I have been using this pour over coffee maker on camping trips for about a year. My main concern was that the design looked difficult to clean. I was wrong! The inner components come out very easily and cleaning is simple. Another thing I love about it is that it protects some of the heat while I brew coffee outside on hold mornings! Now I just want the full set! You need this.

Only way I make coffee now!

It's great for making coffee with just some boiling water. Used your desired grounds and add the hot water and wait. What's waiting below is a cup of coffee better than any drip machine. The only negative is with some pre ground coffees the filter will let some smaller bits through.

Love this pour over, easy to clean, durable and large capacity. We use it rafting, camping and for mornings at the mountain. It seems to fit all my various brands of mugs and travel cups without issue.
