Via ferrata lanyards are getting fancy. Pivot clips, aid carabiner loops, variable length tethers, etc.. and I can see the benefits, but for getting the job done, this inspired confidence...which one needs when children are attached, and they were easy for them to operate. Of course, like all, it has a 40kg lower limit, so it was essentially a second backup for my littlest after the belay, but the motor learning of clipping/unclipping and moving along a cable with these is important.
