Really nice bibs but they run small.

These seems like super solid bibs. They are well built but the sizing was a little off. I’m 5’11 165 and have been a medium in every out door company for years. Ordered these in a medium and could barely get them over my thighs and I’m fairly skinny. I would highly recommend sizing up from your usual size if purchasing these.

They fit well, were excellently waterproof, and overall performed exactly as I wanted from some snow pants for skiing. They’re thin, which will be perfect if I do some ski touring this season. Easy to layer underneath though otherwise. I haven’t worn them enough to say for sure, but I do suspect they will wear out more quickly than I would like, just based on how the material feels.

Great bibs. I’ve always skied with no. Insulated pants and a base layer. Super happy with them! They seem pretty versatile for multiple winter activities.

great for bird legs

I had to get a large, short. Doing squats and working out made the thighs to tight for last season's medium. They are my go to bibs for ice climbing and teaching skiing on the rain days. Pertex is lighter and better than the new gore stuff. Ilike the big chest pocket and the beacon clip Would like to have full length zippers!

Amazingly lightweight and breathable. Huge pocket on the front which fits both my wallet and phone. The new goretex material is holding up just as well as it used to.

Size up, Cuffs are narrow for boots

2 Expert Recommendation Content Great for moderate output snow activities but still need to keep dry. I have been using these snowboarding for the last 2 winter seasons almost every weekend and also occasionally working on mountaintops in the PNW when I can’t use a softshell pant like the Cirque II pants by themselves because of the elements. Great for blocking the wet snow and freezing rain. It’s quite waterproof but thin so it conducts heat away so you need to have an insulating layer underneath (like the Cirque or fleece pants). I’m 32” waist, 5’8” height and got a large so I could layer underneath and just fit my snowboard or work winter boots although the suspenders are almost at their shortest length. I wish they had the ability to zip up at the boot cuff to fit the boots easier and allow boa access. Since it’s so thin, I do worry about ripping it if using for work.

Good as expected.

The bibs feel fantastic and the description is spot on. I would only add that I am 6’1” with a 32” waist, and the Medium is a bit tight for donning and doffing the bibs. This doesn't remove any functionality, but I wish I had bought a large.

OR Bibs

2 Expert Recommendation Content These survived a full season in the PNW as my go-to pro patrol uniform pant (my issued HH soaked through on day 3). These are a bit thin feeling but held up until the last month. The wet spring and worn-out butt fabric got tired and started to leak through a bit. But they lasted over 60 hard days. I like the side zips, the side vents and had no problem with the chest fit. Dependable and hard-working pant, 4/5.

Did great in -12F Canada

I went to Banff and Kananaskis to ski. This with a good base layer kept me nice and warm and kept the winds at bay and nice and dry. I also used them on on the East Coast at MT. Washington, NH. Super comfortable and the leg zips for additional air and bleeding off damp and sweat was really nice. After wearing these I am going to get a pair of ski pants as well for versatility. Well worth the investment.

Good, could be better

These are great. Have taken them backcountry in Alaska in varrying snow conditions and temperatures. My biggest gripe is that there is not a BOA access panel on the ankle snow skirt. Alot of new bibs have them these days and make being a snow boarder more convenient. Other than that, great

Style meets functionality

The Carbide Bib stands out with its impeccable fit; it hugs the body in just the right places without impeding movement, which is a godsend when you're out on the slopes or navigating the backcountry. The style isn't left behind either, with a design that looks as good as it functions – a rare find in the world of technical outdoor gear. However, the aspect where it falls a tad short is insulation. The Carbide Bib seems to trade off warmth for flexibility and breathability. While it excels in keeping you dry and protected against the elements with its fantastic construction, it's not the standalone solution for colder environments. Layering is necessary to retain body heat, a point echoed by many other users. Despite this, the practicality shines through. With ample pocket space and thoughtful features like the drop-seat design, Outdoor Research has clearly prioritized convenience for outdoor enthusiasts. In summary, if you're seeking a bib that offers great fit, style, and versatility, and you're prepared to layer up on those colder days, the Outdoor Research Carbide Bib could be an excellent addition to your outdoor apparel. Just keep in mind that when the temperatures plunge, you'll need to pair it with some warm layers underneath.

I've worn these on multiple ski trips, including a ski trip to Switzerland. These pack down to hardly nothing and are extremely comfortable. Pockets in all the right places and they keep the snow and chill out. I expect them to last a long time and they would be great for anyone who enjoys skiing or other activities out in the snow!

Great bibs - light yet tough

These bibs say a lot of action this winter. They are very light yet tough against abrasions. I have a 33" waist and these fit well in size medium.

'Top Tier Gear'

Alyeska Snowbowl Durango Got some killer powder days and these things kept me dry and warm. They're lightweight by design so don't forget a mid-layer for the stormy/windy days. Warm sunny spring afternoons, open up the side zips and feel the mountain air and cool down. Upper stash pocket stored snacks, phone, wallet, and sunglasses perfectly. Ate it super hard on ice and in the trees and haven't had to patch them yet. 10/10

Great pair of bibs that have kept me dry all through this year;s ski season. Be sure to layer up on cold or windy days as it is a bith, but still does a good job breaking the wind. Durable materials reinforce the lower, inner pant legs. I did still manage to rip them with my skis after a fall. But, I just repaired them with gear aid and duct tape.

No complaints. I'm 5'11" with a 30' waist 32' inseam and the size medium is great. Don't get these if you want insulation though. Still, I wear them with a thin base layer and synthetic joggers for ski touring on days when it's been about 20⁰F and they were great. My first pair of bibs and the days of powder going up my back and in my crack are over.

I use for snowmachine riding. They are thin, comfortable, and are warm enough with just a good base layer underneath. It would be nice if the buile in gator had velcro so you could snug it up to keep it tighter on your boots.

Lightweight bib

Minimalist bib design with waterproof breathable protection. Side vent zippers for hiking and decent pockets for storage. Functions well. I think this is great for backcountry since it’s so light- but solid for resort skiing as well. My only suggestion is they should have short sizes made available. It’s very annoying dealing with longer than necessary pants.

Great gear, very breathable but also waterproof. I have been skiing in 20 degrees to 50 degree weather and it has preformed great in both, it is light/roomy(but not too roomy) so you can choose to scale your layering accordingly without hinderance. You can count on this bib, well worth the money good job OR. I am 6'2 205lbs and I went with size large.

One season in with these bibs and couldn't be happier. From cold conditions with proper layering to sunny spring days these bibs are awesome. So lightweight and easy to move in, these are the best ski pants I've owned.

It's pretty much what it says it is -- fairly waterproof (not as good as Gore-tex but also much less expensive) with very good breathability and great ventilation options. The only thing keeping it from being 5-stars for me is that the gaiters don't come down far enough for any activity other than skiing. For snowshoeing, using most common winter boots that are 2" shorter than most ski boots, the gaiters do not cover the top of the boot -- at least for me, a pretty average-shape 5'9" 155 lb person -- so snow gets down the top of my boot. I might modify them by adding some grommet holes and a bungee cord to go under the boot to at least keep the gaiter from riding up, but, even with that, there will likely be a gap between the elastic bottom of the gaiter cuff and the top of my boots. If they'd made the gaiter just 2" longer it would have been perfect and I don't see that it would have caused any problems for a ski boot. So, all in all, a not quite perfect but still great product.
