Great all around jacket

Bought this for a backpacking trip in the Eastern Sierra. The jacket was comfortable, warm and packed down wonderfully. Medium fits me well at 5’10” and 175 lbs with adequate room for layering. I’m more legs than upper body. My one nitpick is that the down began to come out of a pinprick size hole in the belly region which prevents me from giving 5 stars. I would hope this wouldn’t occur until later in its use. Regardless, I recommend it!

Warm and tough for a puff jacket

This is my second OR Helium. My first one was Navy blue and I didn’t love the color, so it’s in my Strike team bag for fires. I love the tough shoulders and hood which is water resistant. I feel like most other puffy jackets absorb rain or snow over time. It packs well and super warm.

The best camping jacket I’ve owned

I usually wear carhartt and hoodies when it comes to outerwear for work and living in the outdoors. But I switched careers to wildland firefighting and space is a concern so I needed something light and packable for cold Montana mountain mornings. I have been looking at this jacket for a while and was hesitant about sizing I normally wear an L t shirt. I am 6’6” and 185 so tall and lanky with long arms. I got an XL and it fits perfectly not slim fitting but not baggy like I was worried about. The shell is waterproof so far in light rain and It has kept me warm and dryfrom 30 degrees with snow to 60 and windy with rain showers. It packs down decently I might get a small compression sack to see if I can get it smaller. It is super durable have already caught it on a piece of rebar and stone thorns and have yet to rip it which really surprised me. Well worth the money to add some comfort on the fire line . I would recommend for climbing, hiking, camping, or daily use can be used in any outdoor pursuit.

Epic outdoor down

I love the diamond fuse technology/material on the hood and shoulders. It’s durable and ready to take on the elements. I wish it were also on the elbows and forearm area, which can be nice when scrambling. I’ve only had the opportunity to wear it twice, as it was a late season/end of season purchase. I look forward to putting it through more outdoor adventures next year... and for many years after.

Perfect Lightweight warm layer

I was pleasantly surprised with just how wind/ snow proof the jacket was. I've worn it in light rain and snowstorms and found it completely warm in both.

Super light, super warm

My wife is jealous of this jacket. We took it on our last camping trip and I think she wore it the entire time. She loved how light it was and how warm it is. I did wear it a bit and had the same thoughts. Love OR gear.

It is very warm for its weight and size. It’s definitely a maximum efficiency build, which is very apparent in the way it fits. It has a very athletic fit, which is fine for me but is important to note. Size large is good @ 6’2” 185lbs. I have not tested the durability much, but it is protected a bit more on the hood and shoulders. At the end of the day, I wouldn’t bush wack with a puffy.

Great warm Jacket

I gave this score b/c its a great down jacket and OR makes great stuff. I would highly recommend it. I wear it in the morning, and by the end of the day, it is in my backpack. It also stuffs small

Excellent Puffer

Excellent construction and durability. Best in class aside other top tier brands. Full range of motion for outdoor activities like backpacking, hiking, and mountaineering. Having extra waterproofing on the hood and shoulders where warmth and dryness matter most is key. I chose a fit that was very close to the body so that I can layer under a hard shell outer: A self-made system. Also a really good looking jacket to wear on its own.

Love Love Love

This has been a great upgrade from my last puffy. this one is much warmer and retains heat in wind. while it does not pack the smallest or is not the lightest it has been a great addition to my kit. 6'2" 230lb and the XL fits perfect.

Needed a nice packable jacket for a backpacking trip and this crossed off every box on the list. I like that it can be tucked into its own pocket and has a loop to hang it off a carabiner with if you really wanted to, it keeps you very warm and the cinch on the hood came in clutch with high winds and rain.

Such a versatile jacket

Great to wear as layering piece or by it self! Use it daily and love it. Very useful in multiple climates and temperatures.

Warm - wind proof down jacket

I have previously owned down jackets from Eddie Bauer, Gerry, Columbia, north face and under armour. Have tested this jacket in some good winter weather here in Colorado. From the 50s to the teens. Amazingly warm and light jacket especially paired with a hoody or thermal base layer. It’s a bit too warm to wear when weather is in the 50s. Materials are great, build is great. The only complaint I have and it’s not bad is the fit of the arms around the cuffs and wrists. Seems a bit bulky but not too bad. Overall I plan to get many good years of use out of this jacket.

Great Warm Jacket

Make sure that you measure the jacket you want it to be snug. It is one of my go to jackets this winter and I am not cold! I like that the shoulders have some toughness to it for a backpack and it has held up well so far. It is liked some much that my wife wanted a jacket as well. One of that most like feature is hood. The hood is not oversized so it does not fall off like other jackets. I would recommend this to people who wants a warm jacket.

My go-to jacket!

This jacket has become my go-to jacket for just about everything. It’s impressively warm for how lightweight it is, and it packs down small enough to throw in any bag without taking up space. The jacket is warm and pack able. I’ve worn it hunting above 11,000 ft in Colorado when I was sitting to glass for long periods of time. It stops the wind pretty well also. The hood is warm and I like how it is adjustable. It’s also a daily wear.

Great down hoodie

The waterproof patches are actually useful especially when it rained. The down is extremely insulating, warm enough just to wear with a shirt. It’s a little tight on the belly area. I’ve got one feather fly out after one 5 weeks of wear, not sure if that’s normal. Haven’t taken it through the wringer yet since it’s winter and but with how light weight it is I’m looking forward thru hiking with it.

Light weight packable and warm. Added material around the shoulders is nice when it is snowing or raining to keep the down dry.

I’ve been using this down hoodie regularly through the cold winter days in Chicago, and it’s been solid. The 800+ fill-power down provides plenty of warmth for typical winter days and the water/wind-resistant shell fabric on the hood and shoulders helps fight off elements. It’s slim enough that I can easily throw on a wind and rain shell when the weather gets particularly windy and rainy.

OR puff jacket

Good jacket. Like the gortex hood and shoulders. Just wish the were a little more durable. Very warm, and good fit especially if wearing other layers. The fit was a little weird, but once I used it for a few days it grew on me. I would say that this jacket is a good all around jacket, just wish the gortex was more durable. I would say that if you want a semi light puffy and is pretty warm, this is the jacket for you.

At MSRP there might be other options with as good or superior features, materials and construction at or below this price point, but with the EV flash deal to get a jacket like this for under $100 is an absolute steal. It is warm, but light and highly packable. The reinforcement around shoulders with more durable material for pack strap durability and a degree of water-resistance is a legit, performance-oriented feature I really like. Looks good, fits good, fantastic layer for chilly mornings at the crag or on the bike (or whatever you like doing outdoors). It's a winner!

Men’s Helium Down Hoodie

Super warm and durable jacket. It has many adjustable features which gives it an advantage over most other down jackets kept me very warm in 40 degree weather with wind chills down in the 30s, the hood fit is my favorite part:)

Looks fantastic

Used daily in the winter. Great insulator and fantastic color combination. Not intended for the rain, serves as a good mid layer if in wet weather.

Great semi lightweight jacket

it is really warm for it weight. Not the lightest but heat for those really cold days skiing for a mid layer or great every day jacket

Fantastic warmth and comfort

What an amazing jacket! I’ve had this jacket for about a year now, and it served me very well over the winter. The warmth vs weight ratio I’ve never felt on a jacket before. The fit is also just right, I am 5’8”, 175 lbs and got size medium. I even spent a few months in Iceland with it. My only qualm is I wish there were more color options. I have the grey/adobe, and it looks more red in the photos, but in person it’s more orange.
