No-Fry Gloves

These gloves are great for protecting your hands from the sun. They are comfortable and fit well, I especially like that the wrist section is a little longer to provide even more protection from the sun. The only thing is that I wish I would have bought these sooner! A must have on backpacking trips.

Love these! I wear them while being active outside, but also during long drives. They're always comfortable and not too hot. The only downside is that because of the light color, the palms get dirty/stained pretty quickly (especially from trekking pole handles). But, the light color keeps them cooler, so I won't complain!

Very comfy and lightweight

Great gloves for hiking in the sun. They are lightweight and breathable so you can wear them to protect from sun without getting hot. I have biked and hiked and canoed in them many times and still enjoy them. They seem to be pretty tough too. I crashed while mountain biking and they protected the palms of my hands without tearing. Overall a good pair of gloves, I think you would be happy with these gloves.

Perfect for hiking

The glove material is thin and breathable. The fingerless tips allow ease of use of a touchscreen while on the trail. The rubber palm grip allowed for a good grip of hiking poles.

Fits me well. it is quick drying and light weight. I love to take it with me on backpacking trips to protect my hands from the sun and not have to bring sun block as a consumable

Cool, Reliable Sun Protection

I’ve used the ActiveIce Sun Gloves as a light layer for ice axe handling and on hot days for sun protection. They’re lightweight, breathable, and keep my hands from burning without getting sweaty. They also work well to protect from rock when scrambling, though that’s not really their intended use so they’re less durable there. Even so, mine have lasted a couple of years and are still going strong.

Great sun protection

Very well made. I wore them daily on a backpacking trip across the main island of Japan. Comfortable and protected me from the sun and bugs.

These are fantastic sun gloves. Not too bulky for fishing and holding a fly rod or such and they are easy on and off. They give full protection to the hands from the harmful UV rays and sun.

Active Sun Gloves - a must have for a sunny adventure!

Expert Recommendation Content Recently wore these gloves to protect my hands while I was on a long hike. I wanted to limit the sun exposure while on the hike and was not let down. The grip inside the palm was also nice while using my trekking poles!

Great for Paddleboarding!

Expert Recommendation Content These are really great for paddle sports. I tend to get blisters on my hands on longer paddles; these protect my hands from said blisters and the sun as well! The grip dots give enough grip that i don't drop the paddle, and they are so lightweight, my hands don't get hot and sweaty. I hardly notice they are there. I have recommended them to my SUP friends!

Great Sun Gloves - Now in Black

I have worn the white ones for many years, and didn't know they also came in black. I like these primarily for the sun protection, but also they provide a little protection for your hands should you take a spill or if you're using trekking poles and are worried about hot spots. I also like that they fit small hands like mine even though they are unisex.

Perfectly protected hands!

Used these multiple days of fly-fishing while wading on the river as well as on a drift-boat. These allow for dexterity while tying on flies and mending with touch, and simultaneously kept that cuff-to-knuckle area from getting sunburned.

Better than expected

These fit my small hands well and do not have irritating seams that others have. They are so comfortable, I forget I am wearing them most of the time. The length of the wrist is great, they cover more wrist than regular gloves, and my sleeves do not catch on them. My hands do not feel overly warm when I wear them in the heat, as I mentioned, I forget I have them on most of the time!

Do what they’re supposed to

Good coverage, more than expected on the fingers (a good thing) and up the wrist. Wish they had a small carabiner hole or similar for when not in use, but that’s it; everything else is well made & well thought out. Soft but hardy material, maintain grip too. I’ve only been wearing them a few weeks now, but I’m sure like everything else OR they will last longer than similar products. Would recommend

Almost like they are not there…almost

I’ve become a sun glove convert for so many reasons, protection from sun, duh, but also protection from blisters when using my hiking poles and at least a thin layer of protection when trail running when swinging around trees or if I hit the dirt. I’ve even used these as cycling gloves. The silicone nubbies are helpful for grip but I prefer the REI sun glove fabric. It’s the only reason I rated these a 9 i stead of a 10,

Glacier Necessity

Bought these after getting annoyed with continually lubing up my hands with sun screen during hot days on glaciers. These work great for sun protection and my hands do not overheat when wearing them in summer weather. They offer adequate wind protection too if the weather turns which is a bonus.

I used these fly fishing. It was sunny all day and I had no sunburn at the end of the day. The fit was great, and the grip was secure on the fly rod. I would highly recommend for sun protection.

Sun Gloves FTW in Grand Canyon!

I Guide in the Grand Canyon and spend hundreds of hours in the sun. I don't love sunscreen and choose to cover up instead. These OR sun gloves with the OR sun hoody make for a personal sunshade when you can't find any high quality shade... Say midday any day in May while backpacking the Grand Canyon's Tonto Trail for instance. They're lightweight, breath nicely, and even give some palm protection if you're using poles all day. Sun gloves go on every one of my backpacking trips!
