Perfect for long days in the sun

Loving this hoody! I’ve had the echo long sleeve for awhile, but I love the extra coverage of the hoody.mainly using for bikepacking, and can wear multiple days without it retaining too much odor. Feels nice under a pack, and I appreciate the thumb loops & neutral color

Great lightweight sun hoody

Great sun hoody - extremely lightweight and breathable. Perfect for running in the hot sun and skipping out on sticky sunscreen.

Lightweight, nice fabric, good sleeve length. The hood fits well. I mostly use it for cycling/mountain biking in cool weather. The hood fits well under a helmet. I also use it to sleep in when camping - I don't like wearing a hat in cool weather so I'll put the hood up instead. It provides enough warmth when using it this way and the hood stays on.

Quality

I’m a big Patagonia Capilene tech shirt fan, but this OR hoodie is my new go to. The material is right up there with Patagonia, but for much less. Highly recommend for moisture wicking and Sun protection. Only downside is if it gets snagged it may start to pile. Very thin and extremely breathable. Great for beginners or experts. True to size great for Summers and winters.

Lightweight and functional

This is a very good sun shirt option, especially at this price point. It is exceptionally light and breathable, while still providing all the sun pro you could want. The only knocks are with durability and smell, the shirt can get pretty rank after just one use, and I've managed to poke a few holes in it with sharp branches.

Very Lightweight, Breathable, and Comfortable

Honestly I feel like it is cooler to wear this in hot summer sun than being shirtless. The fabric keeps the sun off your skin, and it is still porous enough to let a breeze through. Have used these shirts many times on hiking trips and love them. They aren't great for bushwhacking, but great for hiking on trail. I recomend!

Lightweight hoodies are my go to in the summer and this is a great addition. Protects from the sun and isn't too heavy for the heat.

Very Comfortable but Compromises Durability

I used this sun hoodie on a 5 day backpacking trip in Upstate New York over the summer. I wore it nearly all day every day for that time because it was so Comfortable on my skin and kept me cool. The only downside is that the fabric on my shoulders started to pill and deteriorate where the shoulders of my backpack were. Recommend highly but not for backpacking.

Fabric is comfortable, dries fast and is extremely breathable. I own quite a few sun hoodies but this one might be my new favorite. I’m 5’ 10 and 160lbs and the Medium fits perfectly

Lightweight sun protection

Great hoodie for long hours in the sun, very lightweight and breathable and can be worn even on the hottest days. I liked the holes on the sleeves to lock your fingers, I work 8-10 hour days under the sun and do outdoor sports as well and when I wear gloves I want to make sure my sleeves don't ride up and expose my wrists for no reason. Product fits true to size.

Super light sun hoodie!

Over the summer, I wore this fishing, at the beach and on the trail. My new favorite for sun protection and comfort. Fit is great - I'm 5 ' 10", 240 and a 2X is perfect.

Comfortable and functional

Great comfort and mobility in this lightweight hood. Used in a boat day and on the sidelines for My Kids soccer games. Great fit and feel lightweight and soft

Great Sun Hoodie with Minor Tradeoffs

The ultralight material is super breathable, but not the most durable or smell-resistant. These things are to be expected since this is one of the lightest and most minimal sun hoodies available.

Lightweight Sun Shirt!

This has been a wonderful sun shirt that I have been using over the summer! It is incredibly lightweight and breathable. It has seen chill hikes, alpine ascents in the mountains, hot crags, and lazy rivers. Love this sun shirt. I have owned many OR products in the past and know they are more trim fit so if you are borderline on sizing, size up! Will probably be buying another color in the future!

Very lightweight sun protection

The Echo hoodie is my favorite for the really hot days. Many sun hoodies aren't as light and breathable and I sweat a lot. The Echo hoodie almost feels cool on your skin when you put it on, it's very wispy fabric and does an excellent job regulating heat. It also dries very quickly and provides good cooling when wet. I bought a bunch of them to use for all of my hot summer outdoor activities. The only downside is the fabric is so lightweight that it can get small snags from bushes, rocks, etc.

Sun protection

The new material theya re using fraying quickly and developing loose threads. .not as soft or as nice as previous model I had. It does the job but not as great as my previous OR purchases

Best of the lightweight shirts

I have been using echo line for years hiking in the hot & dry southwest. I also use it exclusively in the winter as a base layer. I've tried numerous other brands but always default back to echo line. Note: They changed the sizing up a bit, where previously medium was a snug athletic fit it now has substantially more room, so size up/down per your preference.

The best hoodie shirt I own

I have a bunch of them: Mountain Hardware, North Face, and Patagonia. The OR Echo is hands down the best sun hoodie I own. I've used the prior three shirts throughout the past few years and was happy with them, but then I purchased the OR and realized it is hads down the best. It's comfortable, has perfectly placed thumb holes and the hoodie is roomie but fits snug enough you forget it's on you when you need to use it.

Amazing

This sun hoodie is awesome. I have used it skiing, biking, rafting, climbing, as well as hiking and trail running. If you go outside you need this hoodie. It is super lightweight that it’s great for hot summer days as well as warm touring days or as a base layer for colder ones. Can’t wait to but my next one.

Ultralight!

Super light, super breathable, keeps the sun off. If you're not familiar, the material is VERY thin. Not inherently a good or bad thing - it's one of the lighter sun hoodies I own (which rocks!) but it's not my go-to for bushwhacking through thorns. Additional bonus is that they pack nice and fold down into nothing. I can probably pack three of these in the same space / weight as one of my other sun hoodies.

Amazing, but one annoyance

The fabric is exactly as good as everyone says. Suuuper breathable, comfy, and looks to have excellent durability so far. My one complaint is that the seams running down the front and back of the torso are pretty noticeable, and while they didn't bother me much with a Salomon running vest, they definitely felt noticeable and scratchy with a backpacking pack. If those seams were just moved to the sides perhaps they'd be less of an issue.

Great lightweight hoodie

Perfect shirt to be in the sun, stay cool, and protect your skin. I used this for running and watching kids soccer games in the high altitude Colorado sun.

OR Echo Hoodie

great piece of kit for basically any Sunny outdoor activity. it's light, breathable and they look fantastic. reason for the 8/10 is that they wear and fray easily. but I have several and wear them all throughout the summer.Very versatile! I also use them for storing skiing too.

Works for everything

I work on a boat in the summer and ski instruct in the winter, I wear these all year round. They are durable, super comfortable, and keep you dry and out of the sun.
