The best pants.

I have been wearing OR pants for years. I have both the Ferossi and Ferossi lite. I’m in Alaska and wear them for everything from everyday at work (hospital), mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, backcountry skiing in the late spring, even took 2 pairs for a 14 day Backpacking trip across Japan. The pants are durable, comfortable, breathable, shed dirt/water. I have 6 pairs of pants in the Ferossi line, and will be loyal to them for years to come.

Comfy and cute!

I have purchased multiple pairs of these pants for daily wear, hiking, and climbing. They are super stretchy and comfortable, and as a tall woman I really appreciate the extra long inseam option! The colors are nice, they seem durable, and they are a cute fit as well. I'd certainly recommend these hiking pants for anyone looking to update their wardrobe for the spring or fall hiking season! Happy hiking!

Super breathable, great fabric and color options but really only a summer pant. Not super season-universal. Also they don’t have my size, so I had to size up so it’s slightly big on me.

The Do It All Pants

I've been wearing ferrosi pants for years. They're so comfortable and they've been through it all. Backpacking, hiking, kayaking, and lounging. They wash up real nice. Never got a nick or hole. One pair that's a lighter color stained because of tree sap 😵‍💫 guess that means I can buy another pair then 😎

I have several pairs of Ferrosi pants which I have faithfully worn exclusively since 2017. They are so comfy, stretchy, and true to size. I have worn them on a 4-day backpacking trip in the Grand Canyon, up and down peaks in Colorado, and on other scrambling adventures in New Mexico and Utah. I love them so much that I have separate Ferrosi pants just for work. However, despite my absolute love and loyalty to these pants, they do rip. In fact, I have ripped 3 pairs. Highly recommend for beginners to experts. Just be careful out there, watch for rocks and anything that can snag the material.

My wife's favorite pants.

My wife lives these pants. I get her a couple pairs in different colors. She's a teacher and always gets compliments when she ears them. I have many pairs as well. I hiked the PCT last year with a Ferrosi convertible pants, so I can attest to their comfort and durability. They stretch nicely. They breath very well. They're soft and they look good. If you've never tried anything from the Ferrosi line, do yourself a favor. You can't go wrong whether you choose pants, jacket, or pullover.

I love these pants!

I saw these and tried them on. Great fit so I thought I’d try them out on a three day backpacking trip instead of my heavier hiking pants. They were so great I went and bought another pair. Now they r my go to hiking pant. They r so light so my pack isn’t weighed down. I can slip them over my shorts easily in the morning and when it warms up I take them off. Back on in the late afternoon. I was worried about them not being waterproof. I shouldn’t have. Got soaked the first day and after the rain the pants had dried themselves!

Great Pants!

Before I bought these pants, I thought I didn't like hiking pants... These fit and look great AND have functional pockets! The ferrosi materials is awesome because it dries quickly, breaths super well, and is comfortable on your skin. They do stretch out a bit as you wear them, but I haven't had an issue with them being saggy and they shrink back up when you wash them.

OR Ferrosi Pants Great Style and Functionality

They are super comfortable and they fit great. Very flattering. They are comfortable to wear now in the hot Texas heat. I plan to layer tights under them next month while in chilly Vermont if needed. They take up little space in my luggage and are versatile enough to wear hiking, climbing, out to lunch, or for a casual dinner. I purchased 3 colors.

Awesome Pants

The pants fit really well, look good, and feel good. What else could you ask for? The pants are casual, but I still feel comfortable wearing them in front country and back country settings alike. Also, I personally only try to wear natural materials (wool, cashmere), so I was skeptical about the pants. However, they are light, breath well, dry quickly, and clean easy. I don't feel stuffy in them at all.

Do-it-all pants, unfortunate fit

Outdoor Research really nailed the fabric and design with their Ferrosi line. These pants have stretch, durability, and breathability that makes them perfect for outdoor climbing in all but the coldest weather. Unfortunately, as others have noticed, these pants are unnecessarily tight around the quadracep area, while being a little slack at the waist and ankles. Hopefully the new model will fix this fitting issue, as it is an otherwise awesome pant!

Best comfortable field pants around!!!

As a wildly ranger, pockets are a necessity…along with comfort (as I live in the pants I wear in on my ‘hitches’). These were immediately comfortable. Pockets with zippers are GREAT! Only downside is the fabric pills in high wear spots, especially where my 75L pack rests on my hips. I foresee needing a new pair every 2 seasons but for prodeal price it’s an okay trade off since the comfort is 12/10. The waist tie is also excellent..I have no need for a belt now (but have the option for one…esp. if first aid is a priority [tourniquet]). Overall, the best pants I have worn in my 7 seasons but slightly saddened by the piling. Will buy again as there is a trade-off for comfy but not longevity

Good hiking pant

I like the material and higher waist on these pants! The blue is a flattering color and nice addition to my hiking apparel. I would suggest sizing up if you have a little more curve since it hugs pretty tight in the thighs and then flares a bit.

Lightweight & comfy!

Material is super thin — breathable on those hot days. Runs a little large in the waist, but it has like a built in tie if you don’t want to wear a belt. I wish they had a tall option, because at 5’10”, I am flooding in these pants. I would still buy again despite that. So comfy!

Thin Fabric

I will wear these pants for hiking. I'm always looking for hiking pants to wear for work and the fabric is too thin in this model, which is probably meant to be that way to make it breathable, but these are not perfect for what I was looking for. I have found in the market thin fabric that feels and looks comfortable. I don't recommend these pants for women's cargo and tough environments, the fabric is so thin that all imperfections in your skin, legs will show up. I don't have cellulite, but I have seen other people wearing hiking pants that look similar to these ones and I can see their cellulite.

Love the side zipper pocket AND the back zipper pocket. For sizing, I am 5'4" and a muscular 130 pounds, and the size 4 fits me well. I hike frequently in the Grand Canyon and these pants have withstood at least 4 hikes in there so far. I am also a climber.

Comfortable stretch, convenient pockets

These pants are very comfortable. The waist is soft and the drawstring convenient for when the fabric loosens up or I lose a little weight. The pockets have good depth. It's nice to have a drop-in cargo pocket with zipper. Yes, it fits a phone. That quick access is nice for phone photography. The legs are straight and not too narrow. The reason I gave one less star is that -for better or worse- the fabric loosens up a bit with wear between washes.

Expert Recommendation Content I am really impressed by these pants. The fabric is soft, light and has a lot of stretch. I’ve worn them on two short hiking trips and also on the river on a canoe camp trip. The fabric resists light spray/rain and dries quickly if they get really wet. I even snagged them and was able to snip off the thread leaving no trace of the snag. I’m 5’9”/128 lbs, size 4R fits well with a little extra room. I keep the bottom cuff cinched so the length is perfect. If I wanted to wear them straight leg however they would be a bit short. I’ll be ordering more of these!

Great light weigh pants

These are comfortable, quick drying, and fairly rugged. I have only noticed some pilling of the fabric on all my Ferrosi pants after a while, but it seems to largely be an esthetic issue more than a durability one as I've had a pair for several years since pilling and done several multi-day backpacking trips with them without issue. I know it's not the most important thing, but I appreciate that they come in colors other than gray, navy, olive, and tan.

These pants are flexible and breathable. I bought them to use as climbing and have found that they work great for that and everyday wear. I try not to use them outdoor climbing when I know there will be a lot of contact with the wall, bc the durability is the only thing that seems to be lacking. I say this bc not long after I got them, I started to notice some areas where the fabric has acquired a nubby texture from where the threads have come out of place. This could be user error though. Overall, love the fit and style. Deep pockets! Great zippered side pocket! I appreciate the streamlined look that they managed to pull off for such a practical and fairly technical pair of pants. I always get asked about them when I wear them and recommend them every time!

These pants are great for both hiking and climbing. I've taken them hiking in wet and snowy conditions as well as climbing on abrasive off widths. I love the fit and weather/abrasion proofing of the material. Anyone can use these pants for outdoor adventures and they translate to a good look for in-town ventures. The one downside is the hip pockets are really high so if you're the kind of person who likes to put their hands in their pockets, these might not be the most comfortable pants to do that in. The zippered thigh pocket is great though. Very easy to zip/unzip with one hand.

I’ve had these pants for about 6 months now and put them to the test on several multi week backpacking trips. They’ve come hiking with me in Nicaragua, Guatemala, and in the US Southeast during the summer and fall. I’ve found them to be suitable across the board. Even when it was very hot and humid they breathed well and protected my legs from bites and stings. They’re durable and won’t get ripped by walking through brush. For reference, I’m 5’8” and 135 lbs and the 6 fits well.

Known as "the best pants in the universe"

Expert Recommendation Content I love love love these pants! At my house, they are known as "the best pants in the universe" because I wear them all the time. The elastic at the waistband is super convenient. I love the zippered leg pocket and that there are front and back pockets that reach deep so you can fit lots in them. They are super stretchy and I wear them almost every time that I go climbing at the gym. I originally ordered the Long because I am 5'8" and mostly legs so I was on the edge, but ended up ordering the regular. I wear the longs with the bottoms rolled up into capris and often wear the regulars with the elastic at the ankles cinched (more my style and works better for climbing in my personal opinion). I love hiking in these and just wearing them around the house. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the elastic at the ankles can leave dents in the skin (nothing major) for a while after wearing cinched and the rear end has started to thin/pill a bit after about a year of (constant) wear. Still have yet to rip though! Love them!

I love these pants! I have two pairs in two different sizes: I use the smaller size when I’m going on hikes, and the larger size to lounge around in. The smaller pair is tight enough to avoid snagging on underbrush, but remains relaxed enough to allow for unimpeded movement. They have stretched out a little as I have worn them frequently. I bought a size up after receiving my first pair in hopes that I could use the larger pair as lounge pants. They’re perfect! I’m sure I will be using these more when I break out the long johns come winter.

Perfect Pants

I have read a million positive reviews about these pants, and finally decided to make the jump. My only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner. The pants are INCREDIBLY lightweight but don’t feel cheap, and they fit so well. As someone who is decently muscular (5’6”, 170lbs), finding pants that fit my quads and my waist is a challenge. These not only fit all those areas perfectly, they’re also not restrictive through a full range of motion (squatting/stepping/lunging/etc). And for what it’s worth, my partner is a big fan of how they fit me. I decided to purchase a pair of men’s and a pair of women’s (men’s being 32” waist, women’s being a size 12) as sometimes men’s pants fit me better. I love the feel/fit/look of the women’s miles beyond the men’s. Also worth mentioning that these pants look great with just a t shirt, but look surprisingly nice with a polo for a quick classier look as well I haven’t been able to test the durability yet, as they’ve been my office pants for a few days. But I’m going to be buying MANY more pairs anyway, so I’ll try to review those in that way down the road.

Just wore these for the first time yesterday on my mountain bike. They are PERFECT. Insanely comfortable, it felt like I was wearing scrubs or pajamas. Breathable, super soft fabric. Hope they hold up, expect they will as all my other OR gear does. The only downside is I won't be able to justify buying other colors when these last a long time :) The ankles are the perfect amount of tight for biking but also loose to pull over boots. Pockets? Nice and deep. Honestly, I've been through a ton of technical pants and these are probably the only pair I'll buy the rest of my life. I wear a size 8 and got a size 8, a little snug at first but then quickly stretched the perfect amount.
