Arizona Workhorse

I have been bikepacking in the Arizona desert for the past 6 years and have had many issues with pads wearing out from constant rubbing and the many thorns we encounter. This pad has held up amazingly well! It also packs very small, is easy to inflate with the included inflation system. This pad is for those who want to travel fast and light but also have a good comfortable pad.

Finally sleeping

I’ve slept on the Zoom UL pad for a total of about five weeks now, mostly on backcountry hunting trips, and it’s earned a permanent spot in my kit. As a side sleeper, finding a pad that doesn’t leave my hips aching by morning has always been a challenge, and this one took a little learning curve. Once I figured out that slightly lower pressure was the key, the comfort level improved a lot — enough that I started sleeping through the night instead of constantly shifting around. It packs down small, stays warm, and feels thoughtfully designed without being overbuilt. After long days in the field, it’s been reliable, comfortable, and easy to dial in, which is really all I want from a sleeping pad when the alarm is set well before daylight.

Adventure Sleep

The challenge of sleep on adventures is eased considerably with this comfortable pad. Lightweight and packable, it goes on all my adventures and helps make sure that although destinations or time goals may slip past, sleep is dependable and predictable. Easy to inflate and durable, it also goes back into its stuff sack easily without a degree in origami. Big Agnes’ is always generous with their stuff sacks. And this pad is generous with the sleep it cultivates.

Highly recommend for backpackers and summit hikers

I’ve been using the Big Agnes Zoom UL Insulated mat on several hiking and summit trips, and it’s become one of my favorite pieces of gear. The R-value provides excellent warmth, keeping me comfortable even in cooler mountain conditions. It’s lightweight yet surprisingly cushioned, offering a very cozy and restful sleep after long days on the trail. The balance of low weight and high comfort is impressive — we carried it on multiple hikes where every gram matters, and never had to compromise on sleep quality. It packs down small, inflates easily, and has proven durable through repeated use. Overall, an outstanding ultralight sleeping pad that combines warmth, comfort, and portability perfectly. Highly recommend for backpackers and summit hikers alike!

Great comfortable pad

I took this pad with me to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. I slept on it for 14 days and it was very comfortable and kept me warm off the ground. It does take a little longer to inflate and deflate, but it’s lightweight, small and easy to carry. I’m now using it from my backpacking trips in Alaska.

I have had this pad for 2 years now and have used it heavily while working along the JMT and for general backpacking purposes. It is extremely comfortable for both side, back, and stomach sleeping. And the weight is unmatched. My only complaints witht the pad are that is does not live up to its R-value, being slightly colder. The pump sack is difficult to use and it takes forever to inflate or deflate. I think it is reaching the end of its lifespan as it leaks air slowly overnight. I did expect it to last longer. Other than that, this pad is more comfortable than my bed.

Warm, light, and durable

I’ve been using this sleeping pad for a some time now, and it’s everything I’m looking for. Wide enough I don’t roll off too easily, but light and compact enough it’s perfect for back packing. I’ve used this in full winter conditions paired with a secondary foam sleeping pad was toasty all night. Without the secondary pad it may be a bit cold if you’re camping on snow, but not to an unreasonable extent. Quite satisfied all things considered.

So cmfortable for a side sleeper

This pad is extremely comfortable. It inflates easily and packs down super small. I used this recently for a 2 week trip in the North Carolina winter and it kept me nice and warm. My only complaint is that it's pretty loud. It definitely sounds like you're laying on some very crinkly paper, but it's definitely not a deal breaker. The pros outweigh the cons by far! definitely recommend to anyone that is looking for a light, comfy sleeping pad.

Warm, comfortable, light and compact

I used this pad down to 17F with a 15 degree bag and stayed warm all night with base layers. Inflation and packing were easy and the pad is a great size — I got the 20” wide and it was big enough to be comfortable, not too big to waste space. I’d recommend to anyone going into colder weather. I had previously used a thermarest trail scout and this was a huge upgrade in terms of warmth, weight and space. Only gripe is the deflation can be awkward when rolling up the pad, the push valve needs to be done manually while also rolling air out. Overall an awesome pad!

Comfortable, compact, not as warm as rated

I’ve used this pad several times in combination with the Anvil 15° BA bag. I have the extra wide, extra long version and it is very comfortable while still packing very small. You can definitely feel it is not as warm as it is rated (I would say it’s more of an R3.0 rating). Regarding noise, it is completely dependent on the material of your tent floor. On its own the pad is quiet but on rougher tent material it does make a noticeable noice when moving around. So far I’m very happy with it and would recommend it for 3 seasons.

Comfy Pad

Easy to air up and packs up nicely. It's also very comfortable. I took this pad on its first trip when the temperature was about 60 degrees. Airing it up with the bag was fairly quick. It took about 8-10 fills with the bag to get it aired up and it held throughout the night just fine. I was worried I'd be too warm since this is an insulated pad but I was very comfortable. I'm a combination of back and side sleeper and found both comfortable. I also have hip issues which are sometimes exacerbated by sleeping arrangements but I woke with no discomfort. My major critique of the pad is the process of letting air out -- it's a bit slow and I feel like it could be improved upon but really that's a minor gripe. Definitely recommend!

Exactly what I needed

I needed to replace my old pad. I needed to cut down on weight and pack size. I also needed a better insulated pad. This UL pad answered the call. Last used on a ridge with high winds in March. Temps were in the 30’s. Even with one of my 15 yr old bags only rated down to 30, I was super toasty and comfortable. My pad has always been the most frustrating thing to pack up after use. As someone who loathes packing up in the morning, this pad has helped alleviate that a bit. Much easier than my previous pads.

Extreme comfort at minimal weight

Recently used the Zoom UL insulated for 5 nights in Idaho. The evenings were very windy and dropped down to about 27 degrees (F). I inflated the pad by mouth for the sake of time when setting up but I have found the inflation sack to be quite useful, just a little slow. The pad inflated all the way did not seem to lose any air throughout the 5 nights I had it set up. The R value in this definitely helped keep the chills away at night. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a light weight pad that boasts loads of comfort. I ordered the Long wide and had plenty of wiggle room.

It Checks All the Boxes!

I couldn’t be more impressed with this pad. The weight and packed space is perfect when you’re counting ounces on lightweight backcountry trips. I’ve slept on it numerous times in sub 20 degree weather and have never slept better in the woods in my life. The R factor is there. It blows up in a couple minutes and the inflator accessory is nice. It breaks down just as quickly. Using a ground sheet and being mindful of what I’m laying it down on I haven’t had any durability issues whatsoever. No complaints whatsoever. Do yourself a favor and make the upgrade, you won’t regret it.

Solves my complaints

This is a nice pad. It inflates easily and provides good insulation. On my last trip temps went into the 20s and with a quilt (so no bag below me), I was quite warm and insulated from the cold ground. My last pad was very loud and crinkly, this one does not have that problem (thank goodness). Also the bag is a quick and easier way to inflate the pad than making myself light headed huffing and pudding at altitude I've haven't acclimated to yet. It's a winner.
