Super comfortable

Really cozy. Definitely needs solid/level ground to be sturdy, and probably best for car camping or shorter backpacking trips where weight isn't an issue. Pricey but I've had them for years and they still look brand new. It's also warm since it blocks wind from the sides and behind even though it's not insulated. Tall back so it supports your head as well. Relatively easy setup and teardown, under a minute.

Best outdoor portable chair

I have had a lot of collapsable chairs and this one is by far the most comfortable. It’s also very sturdy so we just leave them in our cars for games and other events.

Absolutely love this chair

I take this chair with me on any camping, backpacking, or wildfire deployment I go on. Its large enough to be comfortable and extremely lightweight. For the comfort, ease of setup, and weight, this is the chair that you don't skip out on even if you want to save a few more ounces. As I write this review I am sitting in it using it for probably the hundredth time. A fantastic product and the fleece liner that can be added on just makes this one of the best chairs on the market.

Best chair

I’ve had this chair for many years now. Gone from Germany to Texas, Virginia, Florida and now Colorado. This thing is probably one of the most comfortable and reliable chairs you can buy, several years of very hard use and this chair has almost no wear other than the feet. Whether in the field, camping, at the bricks or on the range a little slice of comfort is waiting for you.

This chair is amazing! Very lightweight yet comfortable. Small enough and light enough to take on short trips or keep in your vehicle for whenever you need it. Only minor issue I had is I would have liked to have a little higher back, but that is just preference. All around awesome chair. Highly recommend it.

Well Built

This chair has a robust and well built frame, the seat fabric seems durable as well. I have no doubt it will last much longer than other chairs. It’s a little cumbersome to assemble and not quite as comfortable as I would like. The headrest is nice but the sides kinda cut into your arms if not positioned quite right.

Best portable chair I’ve ever owned

I use this chair for everything from camping to watching kid’s sporting events. It is very comfortable and lightweight, but sturdy. I have used this chair for years and it shows no signs of wear. One of the best things about it is it is very compact when it’s folded up. It hardly takes any storage space.

Nice chair, a bit heavier than my REI chair that’s comparable, but probably because it’s bigger. Could lose weight by getting rid of top bar...

Compact and really sturdy

Packs down shockingly small for such a big chair. The frame feels really robust and it looks great once set up. Comfort is excellent for long sits by the fire. I have a bunch of BA beach chairs but getting out of those is getting harder these days. It feels like a premium piece of gear that I’ll use for years.

Quick, Easy, and Comfy

Easy to setup and takedown, just take your time at first to get acquainted with the parts/setup. After that it’s a breeze to enjoy in less than 1min, sit back and enjoy. Very comfy, kept having to fight my kids for it, lol. Though it is a bit on the high end, it is well worth the investment in a camping chair that is very light, compact when stored, and we’ll engineered to last. Will definitely get another one.

Compfy chair

I specifically purchased this chair for the camper to get rid of the Walmart stuff in the bag chair that seems to be the go to that everyone has a couple of. Like the height of the chair wonder if we would miss the arm rest, didn’t even notice maybe because we use the skyline chair so much backpacking. Love the size of the chair in the carry case that it fits so great into. Plan on buying a few more

Great chair for car camping that doesn't take up much space

A well built chair for car camping or when you don't want to lug around a larger, heavier folding chair. There are no plastic parts holding the legs together so I'm confident it will provide years of great use. However, at nearly $200, this chair is not inexpensive.

Exactly what I was looking for.

I am gearing up for a 4 day kayaking trip down the Colorado River. I wanted something light weight, small packaging, and strong enough for my 6'1, 240lb body. The first set up was under 2 min. I didn't have any problem stretching the chair over the frame as others have mentioned. It is also quite comfortable. It takes up a bit of room in my hiking pack but, having a comfortable place to sit at the end of the day is well worth it to me.

Great until it broke

(Update: Warranty process was super easy and a success.) After a couple months of being awesome the front left pole broke just in front of the steel insert. I'm 6'4" 230lbs I did have concerns and treated the chair gently when sitting in it and defiantly no tilting like a desk in a third grade classroom. Super comfortable chair otherwise, light weight and easily assembled with solid aesthetics.

Look, this chair may not be for you. It may be the end-all of camp chairs too. This thing is sturdy, compact, and lightweight. Its utilized as a car-camping chair for me and the size it packs to is a huge benefit for the product. The construction is solid and the entire thing is both sturdy and comfortable. It's a conversation piece amongst friends, and after seeing mine and sitting in it (dirty thiefs!) a few have gone on to purchase their own. I like that it doesn't take up much space, meaning I can pack more or just appreciate not having a cumbersome chair that I have to store somewhere.

Great Compact, Lightweight Camp Chair

I bought this chair to pack into hunting blind sites. I needed a compact, lightweight chair. I like the full-length back which kept me upright, and in a position to make a seated shot. Yes, it's a little difficult to put the cover over the last leg support. Use the principle of the lever and you're good. Well done Big Agnes!

Very light, breaks down small

It is light and small. I found it difficult to set up - you have to make the fabric fit over the frame and it took some elbow grease. I'm 6'3" 220lbs and it was tough to do, others in my family with me at the time couldnt do it. Also I didnt find the chair comfortable at all - maybe due to my height but it felt like it was forcing me to slouch. Im sure its great for smaller folks.

Awesome camp chair.

Not the smallest camp chair so not something you would take backpacking but I bought this as an aid station chair for The Leadville 100 Ultramarathon and sat in it during aid stations breaks. Sturdy and roomy for a compact chair. Good height and easy set up. It’s really tight when you first put it together so leave it put together over night to let it stretch.

Rafting Chair

These chairs are perfect for rafting trips as they are comfortable, lightweight, compact and will dry out fast if wet! I do wish the edge of the chair that sits right under the quads was a little less taught somehow as it can dig in after sitting for awhile, even with this, it's my favorite chair. I love that they sit up higher than all the other super lightweight camp chairs.

I would have a better review if I had more opportunities to sit in this chair. My sons usually fight over this one before I get the chance to sit in it. OK, but when I do, I like the high back. It's comfortable, light, and portable. I dig how it breaks down into a smaller package for packability (like on raft trips). Big Agnes makes good chairs. Their collection of chairs are often praised by friends who borrow them while sitting around the circle. Go get one.

Out of the box this chair was less comfortable than the other Big Agnes Mica Basin chairs we already have. Its taller and more upright which surprised me considering the photos look more comfy. The chair is extremely well constructed and much sturdier than camp chairs with plastic leg parts. I trimmed 3/4" off each rear leg to increase the lean and they are perfect.

Worth the extra weight

We really enjoyed this chair on a Boundary Waters canoe trip. We were debating if it was worth the extra 1.5 pounds and concluded definitely yes. I'm 6'5" and over 60. The extra height was great, I had no problem getting in and out. More comfortable than our traditional car camping chairs. The chair was also more stable than another similar chair, from another manufacturer. The sides do come up a little high for me. My wife preferred the higher sides.

Good balance of portability and comfort

I am a bit larger than "average", 6'3" and 220ish lbs...so I wanted a chair that fit and is comfortable for me....especially after a long day riding bikes. I would not recommend this if you are looking for a tiny ultra light chair, there are other options from Big Agnes and Nemo. This is, however, a very well thought out and well made chair that is quite compact given the large seating area and backrest. The materials are all very high quality, the fit and finish are top of the class. I will use it for bikepacking, car camping, tent camping, etc. For Bikepacking, the weight is not a concern for me and I am happy to trade off a bit of bulk for the comfort the chair provides. Oh and when it gets wet, the material dries pretty fast in the sun, so that's a nice feature as well.

Very comfortable camp chair

This chair has traveled all over Alaska with me as well as a trip to Florida. It's light, packs small and is so comfortable it often ends up in our living room. Definitely is larger and heavier the low back options, but is also much more comfortable for sitting around. Biggest draw back is how hard it can be to get in/out. Once sitting intbe chair, the seat is very stable, but putting weight on the front edge of the chair will cause it to flip forward. I don't recommend this for people with limited mobility

Outstanding Chair-light and comfy

This chair is very comfortable. I have only had it for one summer. It packs pretty small, and the bag has a handle that is easy to carry or hang-much better than the clunky camp chairs we used to have. Assembly is easy, but it takes a minute or two. It's not just a "shake -to -unfold", you've got to put the legs in pockets. Not a problem, and I think a suitable compromise for the weight. Looking forward to much more time to see how well the fabric olds up to abuse.

Lightest, most comfortable chairs for car camping

Decades before "Overlanding" was a thing (I started car camping in an original International Harvester Scout), we used foldable beach chairs for camp. Nearly 50 years later, I have found the perfect camp chair in the Big Six Camp Chair. It is light, extremely compact, and more comfortable than any other chair in which I have placed my ass. Kudos to Big Agnes for making camp life better.

Amazing camp chair

Before I opened the chair bag, I knew it was going to blow me away. The fabric quality and design detail of the carrying bag alone are top notch. I am a big guy and I just fall below the weight limit. This thing feels rock solid and all the fabric/metal pocket joints appear extremely strong. The built in keyed slots for legs are patented, so nobody can copy them. Other chairs have to spend extra money paying off plastic mold tooling for the pole receiver plastic bracket. This chair not needing that means less bulk in the bag, and more money into other parts of the chair where they can spend more on top notch materials. I bought the big 6 and the basin camp chair, so you'll see a repeat of this review over there as both chairs are both perfect.

Excellent 'weight to comfort' ratio

There are certainly lighter camp chairs out there. There are also more comfortable camp chairs to choose from. The Big Six, however, seems to find the sweet spot between weight AND comfort. This is not your best bet for an ultralight backpacking option but it is pretty ideal for festivals, concerts, car camping, and any other time you need a comfortable but compact place to plant your butt. Assembly is quick, easy, and intuitive (even after a bunch of beers.) Once assembled, it is really comfortable and the high head rest coupled with the more civilized ground clearance makes it feel like a legit chair versus some midget's stool. I haven't logged a ton of use so I can't speak to durability yet but initial impressions are good.
