Thumbs Up for Snowmaking

Love this boot, stiff enough to toe point into iced over snowmaking piles or side step out onto them. Plan to keep using this for colder weather trail work with the Forest Service as well. Buying my street shoe size is a darn good fit as it has been with my other Zamberlans. Only major complaint is the left boot has a tendency to cause pain on the outer toes but that foot is slightly shorter. Also the stock laces suck at staying tight.

Good Snowmaking boot

I use these for snowmaking almost every night. I have not had a problem with water getting into the boot, but when your feet sweat, the boots aren't great at letting moisture escape. The stiff toes and heels are great for digging your feet into snow piles and while climbing up and down firm snow. They keep my feet warm and the hard shell of the boot protects your feet from dropping snow guns and other heavy equipment on them. Can't say they are the best snowmaking boots as they are the only one I have tried for the job, but they work well for me. I wear my normal shoes quite loose, and would recommend sizing down if you do the same.

Tested north of the Arctic Circle!

So, just spent a few weeks in north Finland and was anxious to test these out. I wore them for a few weeks prior to flying out to break them in and all worked out well. For full disclosure, they fit great but are pretty bulky...you definitely need to get adjusted to the feel and how the design impacts your foot strike mechanics. I kept reminding myself they are designed for severe weather & terrain to keep things in perspective during the break-in process. These boots crushed the Finnish cold when I was out snowshoeing and ice fishing. They did quite well when I was out for hours on a snow mobile, but the tips of my toes did get a little chilly as the hours went on. In fairness, I attribute this to not moving my feet as much as walking so the cold found an easy target. I did a several mile hike at -15F (-26C) and they stood up well, but the cold did start to encroach on my toes towards the end. For both the snow mobile and the hike I will attest the boots did a commendable job and, despite the little chill my toes had, I was still good to go and their service was nothing short of remarkable.

Fits like every boot should.

Zamberlan boots are truly just the best. This is my 2nd pair and although this model is specialized for mountaineering and ice climbing, they fit amazing and and are so warm. Aside from having a stiff construction and feeling a bit like ski boots (as they’re supposed to) they look and work amazing for cold weather work or recreation. Would highly recommend if you need a supportive, well built boot…and let’s face it, they’re Italian so they’re dead sexy.

Super comfortable, warm mountaineering boots

I always hesitated to purchase Zamberlan, due to expense and weight. I 1st tried their backpacking boots & was impressed with their immediate comfort out of the box. I was surprised to be able to spend long days with many miles in these boots, without so much as a hot spot. I mention this, because my experience with these mountaineering boots, has been identical. If you want a pair of super sturdy, warm & comfortable boots out of the box, don’t hesitate to get these.

Comfortable, well made.

Upgraded from old Scarpa hard shell boots and these are way more comfortable. They are well made, warm, and allow plenty of flex for hiking. I noticed the lack of ankle stiffness compared to the Scarpas but I was about to climb ice just fine. Overall a very nice pair of boots, I highly recommend them.

Zamberlan Pro EVO GTX RR

These are the newest purchase in a long line of mountaineering boots. I work outside in the winter and this is the first pair of winter mountaineering boots I've owned that actually keep my feet warm. Size is true to fit. 10/10

Perfect

Great fit out of the box. Short break in time put about 12 mi on them before I took an 8 miler with a 40 lb pack. The fit and finish are impeccable. Using them for Rainier in a month. I’ll give an update after that.
