Comfort right off the bat! Long lasting boot for an avid hiker

This is my third pair of these boots. They fit great and they hold up to every day use in the woods. Great boots.

I was pretty sure I would love these. My husband has been wearing his for 4 years and loves his. Sure enough, they are sturdy enough to put my Grivell crampons on, yet flexible enough for the long approach hikes. I am primarily a scrambler, meaning I have peaks as my objective, but nothing above a class 5. Scrambling involves off trail bushwhacking, river crossing, snow and even minor glacier travel. So far these are doing it all.

The soles on this boot are *stiff*. If I were to compress all of my hiking time in them, they probably took ~3 months to finally break in. I live in the rocky mountains, and ironically, the stiffness made them really difficult to navigate over rocky terrain, and they're not the most awesome at steep descents in slippery terrain. They do have great grip in duff and more wooded terrain. Now that they're more worn in, they're a great late spring/summer/early fall hiking boot in easy to moderate terrain. They're also true to size, so if you want to wear with thick socks, size up.

I’ve now brought these boots with me to Iceland in January and hiked in 80 degree weather. It took me a long time to commit to buying these and I read too many reviews to count across multiple websites!
But the comfort and support you will get from these boots that come in a great looking package is unmatched.
The only environment I wouldn’t wear them in would be extreme heat.
I can’t recommend these enough. I’m so happy with my purchase

These boots have taken some miles to get broken in, I defintiely got heel blisters the first 50-60 miles. Now they are becoming more comfortable. I like how supportive and firm they are. I am a biologist and do a lot of hiking in the field (off trail, extremely steep, loose terrain, brushy) and these boots keep my ankles supported and provide good traction. This is my first pair of Zamberlans after 10 years in Lowas and I am not mad about the switch.

As an archeologist with the National Parks Service I hike, a lot. These boots fit true to size and are amazingly comfy. I am on week two of wearing them everyday and have yet to get blisters or have sore feet. I highly recommend these boots for anyone needing an everyday hiking boot for heavy duty trail hiking and of trail work. The only thing that makes me sad is that they immediately got scuffed and the leather is less than forgiving when cleaned.

Being the blister queen, comfortable boots is a must for my outdoor job. These boots took minimal time to break in and have been indestructible in the PNW forests. They are waterproof and have a very sturdy footbed, which is nice when I can't see where my foot is going. I gave it an 8 since they are not taking to the abuse of rough terrain cosmetically well, but so far the scratches do not let in water. Would definitely buy again!

These are very well made with great ankle support for hiking. However, for me the foot bed was pretty hard with little support for my flat feet. After a couple hours my feet hurt. They take breaking in which I am not a fan of. I will try using a different insert to see if these boots will be more comfortable. Over all though these boots are made very well the soles have great grip.

I've only had them for 3 weeks now. They're stiff but seem to be high quality. As a woman with wide feet I struggle to find work boots/hiking boots that are comfortable in the toe box area. I've used Keene's for years for their roomy toe boxes but they don't last for me. So far they still need some breaking in but they're wide for women's boots and comfortable. I'll update or write another review after a while about how they're holding up.

At the end of a long day carrying a heavy load my feet still feel fresh in these lovelys. Game changer for me. The rocker type sole is great and they have held up great over the past two seasons. A very comfy durable boot!

They need to get a better sole. I've had 2 pairs in 3 years and both pairs have had chunks of the sole break off. I'm disappointed with the Vibram brand! I will buy another pair if the sole is changed or improved.

damn good boots. This is my 2nd pair. My 1st pair lasted many years. These are my favorite boots on the planet. I'm the Queen of Blisters, but rarely suffer in these. I love the 1 piece leather.

I do a lot of fieldwork as a biologist--I've clocked in a couple hundred miles on this and it is completely unscatched. Great for a tough, durable boot! Definitely recommend silk liners under socks though; not breathable BUT extremely waterproof!
State Parks & Natural Resources
These boots are perfect for my line of work with Washington State Parks. I often work in wet conditions, and these boots are truly waterproof while still being comfortable enough to wear all day!

These boots required no break-in period, are comfortable, tough, and tackle all types of rugged terrain. Wet or dry, they handle the trails.
