love these boots!!!

I have been a correctional officer for over 15 years and through out my time in the profession i have owned and used various brand of boots, and i have to admit these are one of the best pairs of boots I have used. I wore these boots every day for around a month. At first these boots were not too comfortable; but after wearing them for a day they felt broken in and were more comfortable. They fit perfect and the shoe laces never came undone. while working i usually walk through different surfaces and they never lost its grip. even when the surface was wet they held on. They are well made and durable; after a month of wearing them they still look new, fresh out of the box. Lastly there hasnt been any rain in my area so i soaked them by walkthing through the garden sprinklers. My feet stayed dried and i never slipped on the we grass or wet pavement.

My new favorite boot for duty use.

3 Expert Recommendation Content The Garmont Contact 4 WP (4”, waterproof) quickly became my favorite boot for duty use. I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the comfort and durability after a month of use indoors and outdoors in wet and dry areas. While performing my Deputy/SWAT duties, I typically find myself in rural areas, and the aggressive treading has provided sufficient traction everywhere I’ve gone. The G-DRY waterproof membrane has kept my feet dry and made cleaning much easier. The break-in period was surprisingly quick for a boot that provides such great stability and support. It can be hard to find a boot that looks professional while also being practical, comfortable, and durable. I believe the Contact WP 4 checks all of those boxes. Great duty boots

2 Expert Recommendation Content I've been wearing these Garmont boots for the past several weeks while working as a deputy in Nevada. My typical workday consists of 12 hour shifts The outsole provides confident grip when transitioning between different terrains during a shift, and I haven't experienced any slipping issues. Whether I'm moving through a parking lot, climbing an embankment, or walking across uneven ground, the boots have inspired confidence. Durability has been impressive so far. After several weeks, the stitching remains tight, the leather has held up well, and the sole shows minimal wear. They still clean up nicely and maintain a professional appearance for uniform wear despite daily use in demanding conditions. Before becoming a law enforcement officer, I wore Garmont T8 boots extensively while serving in the Army. The T8s are outstanding military boots and performed exceptionally well during field exercises, ruck marches, range days, and extended time over rough terrain while carrying heavier loads. They're built for demanding field environments and provided excellent support and durability throughout my military service. For patrol work, however, I prefer these Garmont duty boots. Law enforcement requires constant movement in and out of a patrol vehicle, long hours standing on pavement and concrete, quick responses to calls, and standing for extended periods. These boots feel lighter, provide more cushioning for long shifts, and are better suited to the demands of everyday LEO work while still offering excellent support and stability. If I were heading back into the field for military training or a long ruck march, I'd still reach for my Garmont T8s. But for everyday law enforcement duties, these have become my preferred boots. They offer an excellent combination of comfort, traction, durability, and support without sacrificing mobility. Overall, I'm extremely impressed with these boots and would confidently recommend them to anyone in law enforcement, corrections, EMS, security, or anyone who spends long hours on their feet. Garmont has once again delivered a high-quality boot.

Another banger from my favorite military boot company

4 Expert Recommendation Content *I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.* From a company that has made 2 of my favorite military boot (NFS &  Bifida) that have both lasted me over 4 years this is another knockout.  I've tried these for a month so far and it has be a pleasure. I wore them 3-4 times a week for around 12 hours for the past month with moderate walking and the occasional short sprint. I would recommend these for anyone in the military training, patrol, or law enforcement field or anyone who wants a long-lasting boot with great build quality and traction. I have experience with the Lowa Zephyr Mk2 and Go Ruck MACV-2 for LEO use and the NFS & Bifida for military use. This being the least expensive, but don't confuse that with cheap Garmont has always made amazing quality for the price.  The fit is true to size although I prefer a wide toe-box aswell as flat feet so there was a slight press on my pinky and the mid-foot wasn't too narrow. For someone with normal shaped feet these are very comfortable. If someone wanted a sturdy boot this is also a grate option these don't bend much at all. They also come with a removable insole, which isn't an innovation but also isn't standard in case you wanted to switch it out. the build quality is top notch. the top is a thick mesh with a rubber seal and the bottom is Vibram which has great traction. Vibram being as durable and grippy as it is does effect cushion and flexibility. They feel stiff at first but broke in well. Additionally, they didn't feel so stiff that it felt like running on straight concrete. Comparatively the Zephyrs feel very stiff almost like there was no cushion and the MACV felt like a tennis shoe with average cushion.  Traction was what I expect from a Vibram bottom, which was amazing. I testing them on pavement, tile, gravel, grass, ect all dry and wet and all of it was super grippy. I was surprised how well the grip was when I wet the surfaces, especially the wet tile. I didn't order the waterproof variant but I tested by turning on the shower and put the head directly on the top for a while and I didn't feel anything. In the Texas summer I wouldn't say these are the most breathable pair, but I'd prefer water resistance/proof over cool toes.

Great Boots

Expert Recommendation Content I highly recommend the Garmont Contact boots. I was skeptical about the quality and durability of these boots when I received them. It took a few days to get the boots broke in, but I pleased to say the boots are worth the money. They are lightweight, comfortable, and durable. The best part about these boots are the heavy duty Vibram soles. Do expect your feet to get wet if it is raining or walking through puddles.

Solid boots!

Expert Recommendation Content I received this product for free in exchange for my honest opinion. When I first pulled the shoes out, I immediately took notice of the thick soles of the shoes. Kinda reminded me of those new types of running shoes that everyone wears. With that being said, these boots are very comfortable. Took me a bit to break them in. Wore them in the rain and my feet stayed dry so that’s a plus. I did notice that the tread on the boots are pretty aggressive. The boots had the squeaks for about a week. They feel pretty sturdy and my feet felt great throughout the day. These would make a great patrol boot. Solid boot from Garmont.

Outstanding Tactical Boots for Work, Training, and the Trail

I’ve put these tactical boots through just about every environment I could ask of them—from long shifts in law enforcement, to full days on the range, to miles of trail walking—and they’ve consistently exceeded my expectations. Comfort was the first thing that stood out. Right out of the box, the break-in period was minimal, and they provided excellent support during long hours on my feet. Whether I was standing for extended periods, running drills, or hiking uneven terrain, my feet remained comfortable without the fatigue I’ve experienced with other tactical boots. Durability has also been outstanding. After weeks of hard use on pavement, gravel, dirt trails, and rough terrain, they’ve held up extremely well. The stitching has remained intact, the sole still provides excellent traction, and there has been very little visible wear considering how often they’ve been used. I’ve worn these boots in hot summer temperatures, heavy rain, mud, and cold mornings, and they’ve performed reliably in every condition. They maintained solid traction on wet surfaces, dried relatively quickly after getting soaked, and remained breathable enough to keep my feet comfortable during warmer days without sacrificing protection. One of the things I appreciate most is their versatility. They’re rugged enough for professional law enforcement work, dependable during range days where stability and grip matter, and comfortable enough that I don’t hesitate to wear them on long trail walks or hikes. Overall, these boots have proven to be a dependable piece of gear that balances comfort, durability, and all-weather performance exceptionally well. If you’re looking for a pair of tactical boots that can handle demanding professional use while still being comfortable enough for everyday wear and outdoor activities, I would highly recommend giving these a serious look.

Awesome Boots

I gave 4 Stars because these boots have been great out of the box. I work in conservation law enforcement, and the Contact 4 boots have performed well in all conditions and terrain. The fit on these boots is great and true to size fit with little to no wiggle room. I would highly recommend these boots to anyone getting started or to someone with a lot of time in their position needing a great pair of new tactical boots. I wore these boots 5 days a week through the testing campaign anywhere from 8-14 hrs a day and have been very pleased with how they preformed.
