I've been a police officer for 9 years, and highly recommend these boots.
Throughout my career I've really only used 2 different brands and only ever changed to try something different, not because I had many complaints. Really my only complaint I ever had about boots were foot (especially sole) comfort. As anyone who has worked as a police officer knows, you spend a lot of time on your feet. In the more recent years, my feet have not been able to take that as much and I'd come home with sore soles. I've tried out different boots and different insoles with marginal success.
These boots blew me out of the water with their instant noticeable comfort. It feels like the midsoles are made with some sort of softer rubber, allowing for noticeable springiness that had an instant impact on my feet.
The rest of the boots performed great as well. I tested the waterproof ability one night at work by trudging through long wet grass/brush and my feet stayed dry. I love the side zip feature and they were easy to put on and off as a result. The boots have great tread and also have a polishable toe, if you're at a department that mandates that in their policy.
Overall, these are great boots and I highly recommend them!

I got to test these Garmont 6-inch waterproof side-zip boots as a patrol officer for a month straight and during two very long SWAT callouts. They were surprisingly light and comfortable for long periods on my feet, even in full kit on hard surfaces. The boots also handled 90+ degree heat better than I expected for a waterproof boot.
Traction was excellent on a variety of surfaces, including wet areas, gravel, and pavement, and I always felt secure moving around in them. The side zip made them easy to get on and off, and they provided solid ankle support and stability without feeling overly stiff. It did take a day or two for the small zipper gusset not to bother my ankle when putting them on for the day, but they’re worn in now.
These Garmonts look sharp and stay clean. The waterproofing has held up well, and overall these have become one of my favorite boots for patrol and duty use.

I have been a Leo for around 14 years now. I tested these boots out on several swat training and missions. They performed very well and were very comfortable. The side zipper seems to be well made and positioned to where it doesn’t rub on your ankle like some. They kept my feet dry during a call out when it was raining for hours. They treaded mud great and have had great traction.
I have worn multiple pairs of boots over the years: Danner, Rocky , bates, under-armor, keens. I would definitely purchase a pair of these boots after these testing pair wears out.
I will say this would be a better spring, fall, and winter boot. When the temps got warm my feet were a little warm, but they are waterproof so it was expected. If you’re looking for a good pair of boots, definitely give these a shot.
Comfortable good looking boot, I wear them on patrol 8-12 hrs a day.

After a few weeks of wearing these nightly on patrol they still look brand new. The Garmont Contact 6in waterproof boots were given to me in exchange for an honest review, and I can honestly say these might just replace my last favorite pair of boot which just so happen to also be Garmont! The Contact proved to be a lightweight, waterproof boot that feels more like a sneaker than a tactical boot. The Italian hiking giant is doing a phenomenal job producing tactical boots. If you haven’t given Garmont a look yet do yourself a favor and try a pair.

I gave these boots a 9 out of 10 because of the comfort level, break in time and overall traction. Zipper was great and overall fit was nice.
