Take the Candy
I have switched back and forth between running flat pedals and clipless. When I first decided to try clipless, I tried out both Crankbrothers, Shimano SPD, and HT pedals for a few weeks to see what mechanism and feel I liked the best. The Candy pedals won out, and have been my pick for being locked in. The small platform helps support my shoes well, and gives you a nice place to rest your foot if you don’t clip in right way. The mechanism sheds mud and snow very well (it’s my favorite for the Wisconsin winter on my fat bike), and the four sided entry and makes it very easy to clip in. The float from the standard cleats works great for keeping my knees happy too.
