Great trail pedal

These were my go-to pedal before I moved to a place where I have more technical trails. I moved over to the Mallet to get the flat pedal option. No issues with these as my set was nearly a decade old when I moved on to my next set. They had their share of rock strikes and held up really well. The composite body seemed to take a touch of the shock off the strikes as compared to my Mallets. Solution, don't hit rocks. I'm working on it. I still have them on my '98 Cdale and ride them occasionally. Bottom line: Excellent pedal for the right riding

Like Rock Candy, Baby.

Expert Recommendation Content Easiest clip pedal to use. My wife is starting to mountain bike but was afraid of the crazy looking clips. I told her she’d have more fun and power if she just clipped in. When she finally agreed, I hopped on here, went straight to Crankbrothers and got her Candy 1’s. She loves them and how easy they are to get in and out of. I used these pedals for years on my mountain bike races including Tahoe 100k MTB and Leadville MTB.

Great Pedals for the Value!!

Super nice easy to use Clip less Pedals with Great Value for the Dollar!! After Several Pairs of Crank Bro's High end pedals on my Mtn Bikes and Road bike I wanted something less expensive for my Gravel and Commuter bike. These pedals are better than I expected and work perfectly for my needs!! great for Beginner to clips, or intermediate riders as well as commuters and Bar Bikes!

I switched from the "egg beaters" to the Candy 1 and I was worried the extra platform would interfere with clipping in. I was shocked at how little a difference it made, I was still able to clip in quickly but then have the extra confidence of having that platform under my feet. I love these and they won't ever come off my hardtail

These pedals are lightweight and securely hold my foot in place for pedal upstrokes and when riding over chunkier trails. Unlike SPD pedals, the tension adjustment and side-to-side play is adjusted by swapping out different cleats. The ones that came with these pedals gave me the right amount of hold I was looking for.

Good Trail Pedals

Good pedals, I've smashed these off plenty of rocks, both the plastic pedal ad the clip and I've seen no issues. My one complaint is that they're a bit tricky to get into. My recommendation would be to use one or two of the little lifters to put underneath the clip which should allow easier entry

2nd Pair

Great pedal for price. I use this product on my hybrid and gravel bikes. The large platform is nice for when I can't click in immediately. Had one pair for 5+ years and still going strong. Bought another pair recently when I added another bike to the collection.

Being too plasticky?

it works well, just feels cheap. It isn't expensive pedals but still would have been nice to feel little stronger. It is just the feel of it rather than quality, but also could have been to save weight.

Ride 3+ times a week. These hold up.

I never have any issues with them. I have candies, mallets or eggbeaters on all of my bikes. Mud, Ice, Snow, Dirt, no matter the conditions, I can always get clipped in. Can't say the same thing for the guys riding SPDs.

Solid everyday pedals

Bought these to put on my gravel bike and they're working well. Secure hold, easy to clip in and quick to clip out. The bearings are still stiffer than I'd like after 300 miles on them, but for the price they're a great option.

Great Lightweight

I have been using this pedal for years! Always reliable, easy cleaning, and easy clipping in. All around great pedal for the money and it is fairly lightweight for the price.

Great pedals, simple and reliable

I'm on my third set of these pedals on my mt bikes over the last 9 years. They take a pretty good beating on rocks and in heavy mud and just keep working.

I purchased these to replace my Shimano SPD for cyclocross racing. These are awesome, disengage really easily and don’t clog up with mud.
