Great Pedals

Expert Recommendation Content I have been using the Crankbothers Candy pedals since 2011. I recently purchased this model for my road / fitness bike as I like to ride clipless and they are perfect. I gave it a 4 out of 5 due to the coating on the spring flaking off after the first use. I don't think if will be a problem having the metal exposed, but I do worry of rust developing. These pedals will take the abuse with no problem. I also have the Crankbrother hybrid pedals on my full suspension and ride trails and jumps with no issues.

Third pair -- love this pedal!

I use the Candy pedals on my road and gravel bikes and I love them. I have all three models Candy 1, 2, and 3, depending on how I use my bike (i.e. light v. heavy use). I mostly ride long, endurance rides and events, and I like having the mountain pedal/cleat so I can walk around the support stops, coffee shop, or tap room much easier than with road cleats. All my Crankbrothers pedals have lasted for year and many, many miles (with zero effort from me), including the Candy 2's I purchased used. (I am about to rebuild the Candy 2's with the Crankbrothers rebuild kit so I'll have virtually brand new pedals again.)

Using them on the roadie!

I originally got these with my roadie with road shoes, not a good combo... So I decided to go with some SPD-SL pedals instead. After around 3 mo that of riding on the SPD-SL's, I went back to these with some lightweight mountain shoes. These are super comfy to ride with mountain shoes, plus everyone I out my foot down at a stop, I don't feel like I'm skipping out. About 500-700 miles on the pedals, the spring release has broken in nicely. It does not feel like I will fall out at any point riding, but if I ever have to get out quick, these pedals make it super easy. Another win for Crankbrothers!

I've ridden CB for a very long time now. I've loved almost every single pair I have. They are fairly easy to set up and get dialed in. I still have sets on all my bikes at the moment. I only gave it a 7 though. The last 2 pairs ive bought have seemed to die rather quickly. I've rebuilt one set and those are starting to bite the dust too. I'm not sure if I just got two bad pairs or what. In any case I do love them, but wish they lasted a bit longer.

Rugged, excellent performance, and lightweight - what more could you ask for?

Expert Recommendation Content I stuck these on a hybrid bike to do cardio and eventually virtual cycling (Liberty City here I come!!) and I am unbelievably impressed with the design. Clips in/clips out every time, super lightweight, and they look great. I bet the titanium Candy 11s are even better and might try them next!!

Great All Around MTB Pedal

I’ve been using crank brothers for over 12 years, first the egg beaters and now the candys. They are extremely reliable, require virtually no maintenance, and have always been easy to clip in and out of. I now prefer the Candy pedals because they provide a bit better platform to start off pedaling, especially in uphill or technical terrain.

Crank Brothers customer service is the best. I love the Eggbeaters but for CX where you're on and off the bike I like a little more 'substance' to land on when remounting. Better mud shedding capabilities than any of the competition and easily rebuildable. Candy 7's are a nice step up if you're looking to save a few grams.

Solid peddle

Solid trail peddle. Low profile helps avoid peddle strikes. High quality construction. Plenty of support for the downhill bits. You have to avoid peddle strikes because if you hit the right spot you will get unclipped. This has only happened to me three times in 200 miles of riding so not a huge deal.

Great pedals that are perfect for gravel grinding. I was looking for something to replace my SPDs that would shed mud better for the occasional cross race. So far these have been great for gravel with the release angle taking a little getting used to. We’ll see how cross season goes in the fall

Effective, durable, and nice on the eyes

I have had candy's in the past with the plastic body, and they get beat up pretty easy, and it feels like (could be imagination) the bearings wear out faster. These candy 3's feel stout and smooth and I really like the aluminum body it is more durable than the plastic in the past, and also the color is a nice touch.

Great value

These are great pedals at a price that you can afford. I have owned perhaps a dozen over the past few years on all my mountain and cross bikes. It is great to have the interchangeability. I have also broken a few by hitting rocks, etc. When I break them, it doesn't break the bank to replace it. Even the cheapest version is a nice pedal.

I’ve been riding Crank Bros. Eggbeaters for years, on my mountain bikes, road bikes and cyclocross bikes. There were times on my mtn bike when I wished I had a little more of a platform to push against if I had to quickly pedal up something technical from a dead stop and not worry about not being able to click in. The Candy fits the Bill!

Crankbrothers!

These pedals are like a tank. Have them on my mtb and they have taken some direct hits from rocks and they still look new. Durable, no hassle, no maintenance needed pedal.

This pedal is the perfect choice for a heavy use daily driver or people who want performance without breaking the bank. The pedal is serviceable which should give it a long life. Quality craftsmanship makes it easy to love and a joy to use.

Great pedal for gravel bike

Great mud shedding abilities. The platform is large to keep my feed comfortable during long days in the saddle and feels solid when descending fire roads and easy single track. Weight is reasonable. A solid pedal.

Fantastic Color in a very durable and multipurpose pedal

So far Crankbrothers has been my go to pedal for commuting and gravel riding when I don't want to bother with my road cleats. They are super durable and the color looks awesome when paired with the bike. Hope to use them for many miles to come.

Simple and Solid

As someone new to the clipless life, I was afraid of these pedals. The were simple which made them confidence inspiring. A week after purchasing them, I went on a bike-packing trip without any fear of not being able to get out of them in a rush.

Best MTB Pedals

They stay clear even with heavy mud present on the trail, have great contact points, and amazing pedal control. Love these so much I just ordered a second pair for my gravel bike.
