Spike camp

I would highly suggest using this tent several times before going on your backpacking or hunting adventure as there is a steep learning curve to the set up which is exacerbated whilst in the dark . It is definitely cozy for 2 average sized gentlemen to sleep in, but it is doable. I used it 3 times now on backcountry elk and mule deer hunts and it has held up. Definitely buy more stakes to complete the set up process. That being said the weight, cost, and durability make this tent one of the best for spike camp. On a side note I did not use this tent in the snow but it did withstand several thunderstorms and high winds well.

Great 2 man tent

Expert Recommendation Content Just had my first backcountry trip with this tent and man was it impressive. Compact and lightweight, fit well into my dry bag for the kayak trip. There are several steps in setting up but easy. Setup in the rain was a breeze with the footprint and the ability to set up the raincover then the tent underneath so the tent stayed dry. The screen roof was very breathable and kept the mosquitoes at bay. Take down was fast and the roll pack storage was a huge improvement over the tent bags of old. Big fan of this tent! Highly recommend!!

Product was great, setting it up isn't as intuitive as I thought it would be. Practiced it once in the backyard and then once hunting for 3 days in Colorado in September. 2 people of average size could fit in it with a little room to spare. I was solo in it so had plenty of room to keep my clothes, bags and bow in the tent with me if I wanted and the front section and door mat area had plenty of room for extra storage. Luckily I didn't have to test the rainfly on the trip but I did turn the sprinkler on it for an hour or so in the backyard and no water was let through.

I really like this tent. Lightweight enough for a solo backpack, roomy enough for me and my dog. Vestibule was adequate for my gear but may not be enough room if backpacking with my husband. Set up not as easy as I would have thought...must remember to stake out tent first. Also this tent has to be "guyed" out as it is not completely freestanding. I cannot speak to rain or condensation since it has been warm and dry in Colorado. Tent did well in 15-20 mph winds but wish it came with more stakes to properly guy it out. Also 2 of the stakes bent at set up. Fortunately, I always carry a couple of extra MSR stakes so no worries. 5 stars for the "burrito" bag. So much easier to roll up tent/fly than trying to shove it into a cloth "tube." Also was able to take out poles and compress sack to easily fit into into my pack. All in all very pleased!

Everything you need, nothing you don't

This is an awesome tent for 1-2 people who are backpacking and need to pack light. My wife and I packed this in with the footprint, Double V sleeping pad, and the matching sleeping bag and it was the most comfortable camping sleep setup I've used. The tent is tapered in both height and width, so you have plenty of room up where your head is so you can sit up. My favorite feature is the covered entryway to store your gear. We got hit with a storm in the Rockies, and all of our gear stayed completely dry. 100% recommend this tent!

Great Lightweight Camping Tent with Minor Ventilation Issue

Expert Recommendation Content I recently purchased a lightweight camping tent and overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. I would rate it a solid 9 out of 10, with my only complaint being the lack of sufficient ventilation pockets in hot temperatures. However, the tent's other features more than make up for this minor drawback. One of the standout qualities of this tent is its lightweight design. It's a breeze to carry around, especially when trekking or hiking long distances. Setting it up is also a breeze, and I appreciate how effortless it is to assemble and disassemble. This lightweight and easy-to-use nature makes it perfect for solo adventures or camping trips with friends. Another feature I particularly enjoy is the front cover by the entrance. It adds an extra layer of protection against the elements, whether it's shielding against light rain or providing shade on sunny days. It's a small detail, but it enhances the overall camping experience and makes the tent more versatile in different weather conditions. However, the one area where the tent could use improvement is its ventilation. During hot temperatures, I found myself wishing for more ventilation pockets to promote better airflow. It can get stuffy inside, which can be uncomfortable during the daytime or in warmer climates. Adding a few more ventilation openings would greatly enhance the tent's overall comfort. Despite this minor ventilation issue, I highly recommend this tent for its lightweight design, ease of setup, and the convenient front cover by the entrance. It has served me well on my camping trips, and I appreciate its durability and reliability. Whether you're a seasoned camper or a beginner, this tent is definitely worth considering for your outdoor adventures. A nice addition to a backpack kit

The tent is not terribly light and is particularly reliant on stakes to maintain shape. It is roomy and versatile, ventilation appears good, haven’t tested the rain fly in rain. Does not come with a footprint so Definitely need to pick up a lightweight addition. Comes with a pole straightener which is nice. Easiest set up with two people. Would buy again if priced in the $150-250 range. Not the lightest, not the greatest, but hits all the right marks

So far really enjoying this tent. First couple pitches were clumsy, as the poles have to be oriented a certain way, and it can be difficult to completely zip the vestibule fly when already inside the tent, but otherwise I love the internal space and thoughtful design.

Takes a couple of practice rounds to set this tent up efficiently but once you have it down, it is great. Have used in many nights in many conditions and it has stood up to the tests.

Good piece of gear! My only complaint is that you’re going to have to waterproof it before you take it out. That being said I would buy it again!

The winter test

I recently used this tent on a hunting trip with three feet of snow in a night. With the wind and snow the tent held up, I’m pretty impressed to say the least.
