Super light but a little delicate

I have had this pillow for a few years and it is super light and easy to pack but I have has a few holes. The pillow packs down to almost nothing which is amazing, once it is inflated it is a good size and does its job. same as most of these pillows, you have to wrap a t-shirt or something around it so it doesn't slip off the mat during the night. the pillow is a little delicate. I have had 2 holes in the pillow since owning it, nothing major, just pinholes that I had to fix with some super glue but, if I were out on a multi-day trip and the holed had happened it might have been inconvenient. also, it is slippery when placed on **my** ThermaRest and it would be great to see some sort of strap or band added to it so that you can affix it to the mat. Overall, I would recommend it, it serves its purpose, however, if you were on a multi-day trip it might be worthwhile to bring along a small tube of superglue just in case you get a puncture.

Highly packable pillow that is almost comfortable

I've spent a lot of nights in the field using rolled up shirts as a pillow and was looking for a packable, dedicated alternative when I got this. It IS super packable, takes only three breaths to inflate, and deflates rapidly as well. It is certainly better than shirts, and adjustable for comfort based on inflation, however the design makes your head slide to center no matter what position you are in. This pillow works best for back sleepers. Additionally, the fabric stains quickly, although it does mostly wash off with some care.

Disabled, enabled

Expert Recommendation Content I have a few of these pillows that I got on their "only pay shipping" deals. I may have used them once or twice for sleeping but I don't remember. My son has Spina Bifida but really wanted to ski with the family. We found a company that teaches using a sit ski but because my son is only 5 he's still really small and the smallest seat didn't fit him. This is where the pillows come in. We tried a few different ways to get him to fit better and then I remembered the pillows. I put one under his butt and one in the back of the chair and was able to customize the seat height and back support just by increasing or decreasing the air in the pillows. This worked so well the instructor is now trying to get the company to buy their own so they can use them for everyone they teach.

Goodnight

I had the Large x-pillow before this one. I really like the pack-ability of these pillows. This pillow material is more durable and a little louder with its stronger material than the Large Luxe version. I don't know if it is a design issue or flaw in the pillow I received, but packing it up can be challenging as air sometimes gets caught in the "X" as I roll it up. However, I would recommend a camp pillow as It saves your head and neck in the night and is much better than using rolled up shirts and pants to. If you are weight conscience and don't care to forgo amenities, then this won't be for you. I know that I don't see myself getting rid of a camp pillow in my near future and will stick with the x-pillow unless something better comes along.

Sore neck approved

I have been having issues with a sore neck, after a fall earlier this year. I was worried before a backpacking trip, as the issue flared up, and I wasn’t able to get in to the chiropractor before I left. However, this pillow was great on the trip (and has been on all other tips) - it is just the right height, and cradled my head, helping alleviate the pain. The pillow does not fit inside my mummy bag if I want to tighten the hood. I didn’t have issues with the pillow sliding out of place, when used beneath the mummy bag hood. When I do not have the mummy bag’s hood over the pillow, I put an extra layer (shirt or puffy) over the pillow, as the pillow surface isn’t soft/cozy. This pillow packs small & is easy to blow up.

Ok depending on your use casae

If you need an ultralight packable Pillow option, these are great. For everyone else here are the Pros and Cons Pros: Light Weight, Packable Pillows Cons: They loose air overtime just like an air mattress. They are small and aren't that comfortable. My wife refuses to use hers. She'd rather use a sweatshirt. They are noisy when you are moving around. One of mine leaked air after one use. If we were ultra light backpacking then sure, these would be perfect but at this point I'm willing to sacrifice some packability for some more comfort and try the klymit drift pillows instead.

Great inflatable pillow

Great little pillow, I really like how the X design centers my head. I have some neck issues from an old accident, and this is definitely the best ultralight pillow that I could hope for! Just understand that its an inflatable pillow, so understand the limitations - its going to move around and not be made of a breathable material - those are just the laws of physics. Klymit could get this to 10/10 by: making the bottom a bit more tacky, for example by adding some silicone gripper dots and/or doing something to the top to let a bit more airflow (I just tied a bandanna around as a pillowcase, and that worked pretty well)

It’s nice because the X design cradles your head, so you won’t fall off when you roll around at night despite the pillow’s small size. However, I sleep on my side/stomach and I find that this causes my face to be uncomfortably close to the side of the pillow since my head is in the “hole” created by the X. I don’t think this would be a problem if I slept on my back, but it is mildly annoying and can make it hard to go to sleep. Most of the time I just rest my head on the end of my static V sleeping pad since I’m short and there’s extra space up there, which I find is more comfortable for sleeping on my side or stomach.

my new favorite pillow

Expert Recommendation Content packs small, easy fill and ridiculously comfortable. Perfect size for hammock use. I was curious about the chamber pattern but Klymit knows whats up. Perfect for sleeping on back and side. This product now has me looking at their hammock inserts. I chose this product because i enjoy quick trips and packing light. Way more comfortable than clothes in a stuff sack. Thinking about buying another for EDC! lol

Nearly a decade and still going

I use this as a sit pad throughout the year. While it's a bit small for a ground pillow it works great as a hammock pillow. I've had mine for near a decade and it has never punctured or leaked. It packs small and flat, and inflates quickly with a few breaths. I use it at static camps, backpacking and backcountry hunting.

Mostly great daytime pillow

This pillow is great for propping your head up and keeping it in place whether sitting up or laying down but sleeping on it is only comfortable for a few hours. It helps to keep it about 75% inflated. It's also great for keeping pressure off your ears. Overall it's worth it for the price and gets used around camp quite a bit.

Good value

I bought this pillow for a 10 day canoe trip and continue to use it for camping. It's a pretty simple pillow and I didn't expect much out of it. I found it best if it's fully inflated otherwise air can shift around. If you look around you can find it at around $15 which is a good price. It looks sturdy, hasn't leaked on me, and once you get the hang of it, packs up easily.

Using this in the backcountry is certainly more comfortable than no pillow at all. However, I find that it's a little uncomfortable. Even when I don't blow it up all the way, it's very hard - not really what I look for in a pillow. More than half the time I leave it at home and just stuff my puffy in a stuff sack to use as a pillow.

Perfect head cushion

This pillow packs down into a tiny pack, easily inflates to your preferred firmness. Works best when paired with a stuffable pillow case. Kinda slippery and loud without a case. Perfect for backpacking. I have a hard time sleeping well without a pillow, this was exactly what I needed

Super compact!

I love how small it is. It is literally smaller than a soda can. I haven’t used it to sleep yet, but it doesn’t seem all that comfortable. EDIT: After a few camping trips, I have used this pillow many nights. Pros: Light Small Inflates quick Pretty comfy Cons: The fabric feels weird on your face if you’re sleeping on your side I love this pillow. It actually is pretty comfy if you deflate it a little bit and it is just an overall great little camping pillow.

I have been backpacking for pushing 3 decades now and this is the best backcountry pillow I have ever used! At first I was puzzled by the x design, but that x keeps the pillow under your head and keeps it from slipping away the way the rest the the backcountry pillows do! So simple yet so effective! The only things keeping it from a perfect 10 are nit picky really. It’s a little noisy, but not bad, and the valve on it is bulky for packing up.

After my first backpacking trip I forgot to bring anything to use as a pillow. Made it through the night and immediately after returning home I searched for camping pillows. I came across this one and gave it a try and was pleasantly surprised. For the price point it is a great investment. Packs down to a good size and slips easily into the top of the Klymit sleeping bag.

Smaller than I expected

I should have paid more attention to the specs, as the size is listed, but it was smaller than I realized it would be. It does inflate with just a few breaths and, when deflated, it's extremely compact and packable. And you can't beat the warranty. I generally use a Hennessy Hammock and I'm not yet sure this will compliment it due to the slickness of the hammock floor and the pillow. I'll find out when I hit the field next week, so we'll see....

Pillow X

I really like this pillow. As a minimalist pillow it is light, very packable and can be used in a multitude of ways. I find with other inflatable camp pillows my face slides off the side of them. With this pillow my face or head stays in the X. This pillow lives in my truck, I take it out for hikes and camping, but I also use it on long drives behind my lower back. All-around great. Not a 10 because I have to throw my t shirt over it to sleep as my beard makes to much noise against it.

Great pillow for the right price

My family just came off a 2 week, 5,000 mile road trip with plenty of hiking and camping. Klymit’s camp pillow work great. The design keeps your head centered and minimizes the pillow sliding out from underneath you. The pillow rolls up into a small pkg and the weight is negligible. Upon getting home, we ordered another camp pillow from Klymit due to a sale going on.

Lightweight and Comfortable

I have used this pillow for 2 backpacking trips and love how small it folds up and how well it holds my head in place. It would be nice to have a pillowcase of some sort that could be washed after trips. It also only takes a couple of breaths to blow this bad boy up. Occasionally it slides but overall I am very happy with this purchase. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking to lighten your load for longer trips and still want the luxury of a pillow.

Very efficient design!

This is the smallest packing pillow I’ve ever used! Packing down to about the size of a 5-hour energy bottle means I can keep this in the stuff sack for my sleeping pad. Also, although it is not the most luxurious feeling pillow, the X design makes a perfect cradle for your head to ensure comfort throughout the night. However this minimal design does have one drawback, which is that it is not the softest material. Therefore, I recommend coupling it with a sleeping bag that has a built it pillow sleeve.

Super light, extremely pack able size (about the size of the bag of nuts they give you on an airline), inflates in 2-3 breaths. It is functional, it's not going to be super plush, that is the trade off for being so light and packable. The x shape is a great design that helps caress your head and keeps your head from sliding on the pillow. Definitely would recommend.

I use this product twofold; one as a camping pillow, and two as a lumbar support when traveling. It is compact and super lightweight, it takes up virtually no space in either of my packs. It is also very durable, as to when I readjust and constantly crush the pillow with my head or back, it stands up to the rigors. I wish the inflation valve was integrated better to allow folding the pillow back up a tad easier.

Great little packable pillow

It is very comfortable for what it is and you will absolutely not notice the weight on your pack. I use mine for elk and deer hunts when camping out of my pack, as well as for comfort when traveling in the military. I use it on aircraft that have terrible seating, and when we are in field situations. I have used two of these for over a decade and no leaks- no issues. Put a t shirt over it when sleeping on it and it is near perfect.
