Durable and comfortable
I have enjoyed using the sky bivy as an alternative to my tent. I have used it about a dozen times in Colorado, Utah and Idaho where it gets fairly cold at night and the tarp has helped keep me warm and dry. This sleep system is a great car camping option when weight is not an issue but at over 5 lbs I leave it at home when I go backpacking. The lay flat hammock is quite comfortable and after it has been set up a few times and the fabric has stretched it is quick and easy to put together. The tarp can be used in many different configurations depending on the weather and will work with any hammock. The sky bivy comes with everything required to use it right away so no need to go out and buy extra stuff. It comes with the hammock with spreader bars, tarp with poles, klymit carabiners, guy lines with quick adjustments, tent stakes, and it even came with a tree strap. Overall I am pleased with the klymit sky bivy and I would recommend it, I gave it an 8 rather than a 10 is because the hammock does not work without the spreader poles and I felt like weight could have been shaved if the poles were made of a lighter material.
