Partner Spotlight: The Conservation Alliance

At ExpertVoice, we believe that the outdoor spaces we explore, rely on and fight for deserve more than admiration—they deserve action. That’s why we’re proud to spotlight The Conservation Alliance (TCA) this Earth Day, an organization we’ve been honored to support as a member company since 2023.

Founded in 1989 by outdoor industry leaders like Kelty, Patagonia, REI and The North Face, The Conservation Alliance was built on a simple but powerful idea: businesses can accomplish more for the planet when they work together. Today, TCA is a collective of over 200 member companies, from gear brands to banks, breweries to tech companies, pooling resources and raising their voices to protect North America’s most important wild places.

A force for collective conservation

The Conservation Alliance isn’t just about funding—it’s about impact. Since its inception, the organization has awarded over $33 million in grants to grassroots conservation projects, helping to protect more than 124 million acres of land and 4,964 miles of rivers. From halting dams to preserving climbing areas to supporting Indigenous-led stewardship programs, their work spans ecosystems, geographies and communities.

Most recently, their Summer 2024 Grant Cycle awarded $410,000 to 12 impactful projects across North America. From protecting rivers in the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem to restoring buffalo in Texas with tribal leadership, these initiatives are a testament to how conservation work can honor culture, protect biodiversity and benefit local communities.

Some standout projects include:

• Snake River Basin Restoration in Washington – Supporting efforts to restore salmon and steelhead populations by removing four lower Snake River dams, protecting cold-water habitats and revitalizing the region’s fishing economy.
• Klickitat Oaks in Washington – Phase 1 of a campaign to conserve critical oak habitat in the Pacific Northwest.
• Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument Plan in California – Supporting inclusive land management in a region rich with ecological and cultural significance.

Why we joined the member collective 

In 2023, ExpertVoice officially became a member of The Conservation Alliance. Our team is passionate about the outdoors — not just as a backdrop for adventure, but as essential to the communities and industries we support. Joining TCA was a natural extension of our values: to support the communities and landscapes that power our industry and our passions.

As a member company, we contribute financially to TCA’s annual grant fund and participate in the Member Collective Grant process. This means our employees help nominate and vote on the conservation projects they care about most. It’s a direct way to champion causes that align with both personal values and professional missions — and it’s one we’re incredibly proud to take part in.

Looking ahead
