Kevin Knight, Experticity’s chief marketing officer has been named to Utah Business’ 2018 Forty Under 40 list. The honor recognizes professionals under 40 who have become standouts in their field and had a major impact in their industry.

“Since leaving Pinterest to join Experticity in 2016, Kevin has been key in helping us create better consumer buying experiences through expert recommendations,” said Tom Stockham, CEO of Experticity. “He’s a visionary for how to make commerce and marketing better for brands and consumers by elevating the people whose knowledge, experience and passion make them the trusted source of recommendations about what to buy. I’m deeply grateful to work with him and so excited he was recognized by Utah Business for this well-deserved award.”

Kevin leads the marketing and creative services teams as at Experticity, the world’s leading advocacy marketing company. Experticity connects retail associates, industry professionals, and other real-life influencers with top brands to create a more powerful consumer buying experience.

In just nine years Kevin has risen from an MBA Intern with Google through the ranks at Microsoft, Facebook and Pinterest to join Experticity as their CMO at 34 years of age. Now, in his second year as CMO, Kevin is leading Experticity, along with the advertising industry, past influencer marketing to a whole new way for commerce to flow – through experts.

As a part of the Facebook Marketing team in 2010, Kevin had a front row seat to the early potential of influencer marketing and UGC. Kevin led the creative team that worked with Fortune 500 heavy hitters like P&G, Johnson & Johnson and PepsiCo/Frito-Lay. He executed several of Facebook’s all-time top-performing social campaigns, like Lay’s Do Us a Flavor, which garnered more than 3.7 billion Facebook impressions, and went on to win Facebook Studio’s Silver Award, a Silver Effie and PR Week’s Promotional Event of the Year.

After leaving Facebook, Kevin went to Pinterest as the global head of creative and brand strategy. Kevin was instrumental in bringing to market one of the most truly native ad formats, Promoted Pins. Kevin provided vision on new formats like Cinematic and Video Pins as well. He also oversaw the development of the Pin Collective, Pinterest’s exclusive influencer network that connects businesses with Pinterest’s best content creators. One of the industry’s first efforts in categorizing influencer based on their content not just their reach.

Kevin’s success is tied directly to his ability to first see what’s possible, and then quickly executing on that vision for his company and its clients. His marketing solutions are ahead of trend, resulting in better buying experiences for consumers, and more significant sell-through for a brand. From innovating on native creative at Facebook, to truly native formats at Pinterest and now pioneering expert powered commerce at Experticity, Kevin is one of advertising’s great strategic leaders.

Kevin is a member of the marketing program advisory board at Brigham Young University and the partner board for the University of Utah College of Humanities.
