The Places We Play
With a network of over one million passionate Experts who really know their stuff, it would be silly not to tap into their opinions and expertise. Experticity’s network is broad and varied, but what they all have in common is passion about what they do, a love of learning, and an insatiable need to share that with others.
So we had an idea.
THE HYPOTHESIS
We know how passionate these individuals are about the products and brands they know and love (and recommend to everyone in their circle of influence). We felt confident that same passion would extend beyond gear, products, or even brand recommendations.
Through the years of seeing this network expand, we’ve learned that beyond the binding quality of passion, all of our Experts share something else: They love to play. Knowing this, we took our survey tool straight to the Experts to discover the ultimate playground in the United States. Which National Park is the Nation’s Playground?
We listened to our Experts, crafted a bracket where they could vote on head-to-head matchups, and let the experiment begin.
THE EXPERIMENT
We reached out to the world’s largest network of Outdoor Experts, and from a list of 59 national parks, narrowed our bracket to the Sweet Sixteen most recommended national parks. Then we separated them by region — which wasn’t easy, by the way (seeing Zion lose to Yellowstone was a bitter pill for some to swallow).
The results were incredible to watch. Over a period of four weeks we saw over 3800 unique Experts vote, with significant engagement for each round. Some rounds were close (how do you choose between Yosemite and The Grand Canyon?), and some were…not… (better luck next time, Everglades). Yellowstone and Glacier battled it out in the end, with Glacier winning 58% of the vote to become the ultimate National Playground.
What did we learn? Not only do Experts want to help you make great buying choices for your next hiking trip, but it turns out they’re also pretty dang passionate about suggesting where that next hiking trip should be.
