Recently, ExpertVoice has noticed a trend about as subtle as a glitter explosion: CBD is everywhere.

Perhaps you’ve noticed, too.

People use CBD products to manage nagging discomfort. They use it to power through stressful days at work and to sleep better at night. Some even use the all-natural hemp products to manage pain and anxiety in their dogs.

Online searches for “CBD” officially surpassed Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian and kale in August. People are curious, and today’s consumers face an overwhelming number of choices when they go looking for CBD products.

We wanted to help. That is, after all, why ExpertVoice is here.

We’re here to help consumers make better buying decisions. We do that by educating the people they ask for advice on what to buy. By providing experts — retail sales associates, industry professionals and those who are passionate and experienced in their favorite field — with in-depth knowledge about the latest innovations from brands in their industry, we’re giving them the power to help consumers with the credible, trusted recommendations they need.

So we decided to create a series of quick and informative lessons on the fundamentals of CBD and hemp. We wanted to complement the brand-specific education campaigns we’ve created for close to a dozen CBD product manufacturers, including Charlotte’s Web, Barlean’s and PlusCBD™ Oil.

We identified common questions and confusion surrounding CBD. For example, we found that a lot of consumers aren’t sure whether CBD and marijuana are the same thing (they’re not*), and whether CBD will get you high (it won’t).

This content answers those (and more) questions. Plus, we created interactive pages where you can add your own CBD-related questions or expand on our answers.

“At the end of the day, it’s our job to help educate those consumers who may come in with a bit of a misconception regarding CBD products. It’s a huge responsibility for us to help educate and help support the wellness of our consumers because the last thing we want to happen is any kind of issue or confusion that makes a person who might benefit from the product shy away from it,” said Venetia Morris, an ExpertVoice member who manages a Vitamin Shoppe in Indiana.

*CBD is one of hundreds of compounds found in the hemp plant. One of the other compounds, THC, is the psychoactive ingredient in hemp. Legally, hemp can’t have more than 0.3% THC, but brands often remove even trace amounts of THC.
